'18 TN DB Brendon Harris (UT Commit 5/19/17)

Fell out rivals 100 .

Not shocked...they move Taylor in they move Harris out...I swear I've been following this for years and there's a pattern to this...UT rarely gains points overall when Rivals updates the rankings...

The 250 comes out today and I'm looking for Martinez to come in and Lawless to fall out in order to balance it out

As good as you are with numbers, I think you may be on to something, but the question is why? What would they get out of it?...Here is another good question...How in the hell is Martinez not already in their top 250?

Crazy thing is Harris was ranked 61st that's gonna be a huge fall.

There is no legit reason to shake up ratings right now, wait till they play actual football. Good grief these sites are such a joke.

The more updates they have, the more clicks they get. The more clicks they get, the more subscriptions they can sell.

basically because we have people that give them credence.

You are correct, but they have found a way to get people's money. It isn't likely to change. To many people have to know what Rivals, 24/7, and ESPN think about high school kids.

shaking up the rankings in late may is laughable. Its also laughable watching ppl like Booger, etc. tweet out who the best teams are coming into the season when nobody has played a snap yet or even held a practice. Its all a joke. The hype gets worse every single year.

prob not. No reason to either. Everybody in the country wanted him so no need to go prove anything in a glorified workout.

I agree with this. If a kid gets good offers early and commits to the school he wants to attend, I don't see the need to go to the rivals camps and stuff. Maybe your schools camp in the summer. Other than that I'd be busting my ass in the off season in the weight room and getting ready for a great senior year. Guys like Harris, Mays, and others don't have anything left to prove. College coaches know what they can do and their abilities.

I don't think he's been camping

While you may pick up some new drills or techniques, there is really nothing to be gained by camping. If you are wanting to raise your star rating, you need to attend everyone's camps and then you are just increasing your risk of injury and missing all or part of your senior campaign which probably means more to most kids than a few summer camps. JMO though.

Rivals updates now after spring camps. Kids who were at camps and performed well will move up. Kids who didn't camp or performed poorly will drop.

Rivals is the worst of them all IMO. I tend to ignore their ratings of our current commits.

Kids who were at Rivals' camps and performed well will move up. I think Rivals is probably the best out of the recruiting services but they are only looking at kids that paid to attend their camps. I don't really blame them though. This is a capitalistic society and they have found a way to make money. It is just humorous to see us get our jockeys in a bunch when one of our kids gets dropped because he didn't camp. I think it is crap too but it doesn't make the kid any less of a footballer. Until the system changes, it is the best we have.

I agree I thinks it's bs.

All of the recruiting sites are purely subjective. Outside of the top top kids, it is virtually impossible to accurately rate all of the high school players. What is really the difference between the number 50 player and the number 150 player? Opinion and how many of that sites camps did they attend. That is it. Rivals, 24/7, ESPN.... its all about the money.
