Wow...sometimes I hate being right...

Moved Taylor in the 100...dropped Harris 134 spots to #195 and dropped him from a borderline 6.0 to a 5.8...so Taylor gained us 10-15 points but we lost 30+ on Harris...

Moved Martinez from a 5.8 outside the 250 to a 5.9 and #160ish...dropped Lawless out of the 250...that move added 30ish points but lost us 10ish...

Penix bumped to a 5.8 which added 15...I don't have time to add up everything but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we broke even

Woody said 5 commits move up. Simonton said likely Warren and Reed get small bumps tomorrow. My guess is they go from 5.5's to 5.7's.

Woody comments on Harris new ranking on VQ...

This is accurate. We (or should I say I) overshot a little bit on Harris' ranking and after seeing him this spring that was a consensus with people I spoke with.

Mays struggled mightily at the Nike camp in Atlanta and wouldn't be ranked as high as he is if it weren't for me fighting for him in the meetings.

Emerson weighed in a 297 pounds this spring and will be a defensive tackle at the next level more than likely. After I get a chance to see him play this fall he'll likely move positions.

Harris committed out of the blue and was already set to move down in the rankings. As was noted above by another poster, we already had him ranked much higher than others.

Alontae Taylor has moved up every rankings cycle since he committed to Tennessee. At least three other prospects moved up in the rankings since they committed as well. There is no conspiracy.

Based on what this spring did you not like?

He went from 195 to 215 pounds and lost some of the athleticism that goes with that.

He added too much weight and lost some of the fluidity that made me think he was a top 100 guy to begin with.

I was always on an island when it came to his ranking (much higher than others) and it looks like I was wrong.

So he gained some weight and that warrants that massive drop. I guess it is due to the fact that he could never lose that weight and probably won't lose it over the summer as most people do. Laughable. Simply laughable.

Not to keep poking the bear on this one, but do those comments make you think Woody was just trying to save face with the posters he was posting to? "I was on an island all by myself" "I fought for Mays all by myself". All of those felt a little like "saving face with the masses" to me.

Well Woody got caught in a lie earlier in that thread. He mentioned one of the analysts on the VQ relayed information about Harris's play which caused a drop in his ranking. And when asked all of the VQ guys said they hadn't spoke to Woody about Harris. There is nothing credible about these clowns nor their arbitrary ranking system.
