'18 TX RB Maurice "Mo" Washington

whats the connection that got Washington's foot in Sanders door?

His Aunt said that she couldn't run him back and forth to school because she had other things she had to do. Deon stepped up and let him stay with him. Deon told him that nothing less than a 3.5 GPA would be acceptable and that it was the only way he could stay with Deon was to keep those grades up. That was the reason why we stopped recruiting him because his grades were bad. Gillespie re-engaged his recruitment a few weeks ago around the time of the UAAA game practices.

no. why did deion even take him in?

Family? Friend of the family? Washington once held the door for him and introduced himself?

Maybe, just maybe, Deion knew this guy was having a rough time and that he had a lot of potential and wanted to help him and mentor him. Weird thought. Why do you think he did it? Do you think Deion sees this kid as his meal ticket? Sometimes people can do good things and it not be some evil thing.

It's a thing Deion does.

Years ago there was this WVU running back who had a tragic backstory - both parents died of AIDS or something - but the kid had amazing talent/speed. Deion took him in and got him to WVU.

As for how Deion found Mo, or how he comes across these kids, idk. But he only does it if the kid has talent, which is kind of weird.

Nevertheless, I still don't like Deion or want him anywhere near Tennessee.

He goes to the school Dieon coaches and where his kids go. Mystery solved. Now I'll wait another 2 pages to say this again.

That WVU running back was Noel Devine. WEIRD story. Devine played at Deion’s alma mater, North Fort Myers High School and had fathered two kids by his junior year and was equally fast on the field (4.2 40). Deion attempted to adopt him and moved him into his mansion in Prosper...just north of me here in Texas. I think he was filming his reality show. Two weeks there and right before he was supposed to start attending Prosper High School, he took Pilar’s car and left it at DFW Airport for a flight back to Florida. Deion still did his mentor thing with him like helping him with the LOI process, but it always came across like his aim was to display his “son” on the football field for his show.

Hahaha right. It was explained before and will be again.

Noel Devine could fly, one of the fastest ever in the State of Florida I can remember. Whatever happened to him? Last I heard he was playing in Canada or somewhere.
