If Martinez commits to UT, as expected, do we rescind our offer to this kid? There's no way we'd take three QB's is there?

Yeah we can't take three but I bet we stay in contact just in case...

That is definitely one of Butch's strengths, they recruit until the ink is dry. I guarantee they'll stay in touch with many QB's after they have two committed. Never know if one will flip later on and can't risk having to start relationships over.

You never really rescind offers, but with a lot of positions, especially QB, coaches tend to be really upfront about how many spots are available. If you aren't ready to commit, that's fine, but if those spots fill, you're out of luck. That's what would happen here.

As a rule, QBs tend to commit a lot earlier than a lot of other position groups because it has a domino effect with available spots.

Is everyone sure Penix is a QB and not an athlete who may play a different position in college?

Well... I tweeted to Jatavious Harris that I was looking forward to the highlights of Penix to Harris, and Penix, his mother, and his father all liked and retweeted it.

Based on that very scientific method, I'd say he's playing QB.

I think it's ok as long as it is at arm's distance. Saying things like the OP said are fine, IMO. You just don't run them down if they go elsewhere and you never get very personal. I very rarely do it, but I think it's not so bad, if you do it the right way.

Best practice is abstinence.

actively tweeting recruits leads to disappointment, disappointment leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to Sabanichio levels of creepiness.

I couldn't bench past 150 in high school but had a 65 yd max on my passes. Bench is only so important. I could still evade sacks, and chunk the ball. My Squat however was 440 lol

What was this about? Couldn't bench 150, but could squat 440? 🤣
