I have a few friends and co workers who are big time OU fans and they mention things they heard/read.... I did read an article or two at the beginning of season when rumors were swirling about him transferring.. sure its all hearsay or what not but thats not something i wanna risk. when for one we likely get Hendo back. and there will be several other options to pursue.

Plenty of articles the last few weeks, along with vids on YouTube, talking about how teammates have come to his defense...have talked about how good of a teammate he has been after being benched, they've said he has handled it admirably...they've talked about how he has helped Caleb Williams in any way he can. These are his TEAMMATES saying these things, teammates that are in the LOCKER ROOM with him. I may have missed it, but I haven't seen a single negative word said about him by a teammate or coach.

Sounds like a far cry from "locker room cancer". Then again, maybe your friends and co workers know better than Lincoln Riley or Michael Woods or Isaiah Thomas, etc.

Also, no rumors at the beginning of the season about him transferring.

It's okay to have a difference of opinion. Sure it's all speculation but we're allowed to have our own opinion I personally don't want to bring him in. You obviously do and that's okay. This is a discussion board, not a newspaper, I'm just a fan like all of us, so I'm not going to argue over "sources" or "links" what I read or you didn't.... It's petty, all I said was based on info I gathered (heard from their fans, read) in my opinion I don't want him.

It amazes me how easily people attack people for having a difference of opinion. We are all Vol fans here well mostly besides the handful of posters from other teams, my point is we all have Tennessee in common and are on.the same side or team, no need the stir the pot cause of difference of opinion.

I had a big response typed out, putting you on blast for each point you tried to make, but why bother. I'll just say...people shouldn't call others "cancers in locker rooms" if they haven't a clue of what they're talking about...discussion board or not. You're free to believe all the gossip and bullsh!t your heart desires...I just believe those who are truly in the know...

I think the problem is when you present "opinion" as fact, but then can't back it up. Even weaker to then just explain it's all opinion anyway.

So which is it? Were you actually being told he was a locker room cancer back at the beginning of the season - and was he transferring then? - or did you just make it up as your "opinion"? In which case you are just making up garbage about kids. Talk about cancerous....

Woah man, he doesn’t need to make such statements. Hasn’t he seen the IG comments by his teammates?!?
Yeah, why listen to kids and coaches that are around him every. single. day... whenever we can just take the word of people who have NEVER even met him.
GTFOH with that dumb sh!t.

Doesn’t matter. Bashing a young man that nobody has ever met. I trust what his EX-teammates say.
Either way we’re both relying on other peoples word. Can’t bash those that have heard from media members that the kid has locker room issues. Same can be said about bashing you for hanging on the words of teammates.

Eh. I guess.
I’m just not going to bash someone I’ve never met. Unless they’re a Gator.

I have not once said I like/dislike, want/don't want the kid, not once. If me choosing to believe what his teammates and coaches have CONTINUOUSLY said about him, over what a "discussion board" poster heard from his buddies...if that finds me to be any other thing but rational, responsible, smart, then so be it.

My point from the beginning: whether I like/dislike, want/don't want does not matter. I do, and always will, no matter the forum, take issue with anyone who states opinion as fact. Again, if that finds me to be any other thing but rational, responsible, smart, so be it. If I see/read/hear it, I will ALWAYS call out those who do it...those who speak on things as fact, when in reality, they haven't the slightest clue of what the hell they're talking about...what sane person wouldnt?? It's one of the very reasons the 21st Century is burning...emotion, feeling, opinion, being put forth as fact.

Now, do I think Rattler is a massive a**hole, yes...yes, I do...Dan Marino, massive a**hole...Brett Favre, massive a**hole...I could go on and on and on and on...you get the point. Big a**hole is NOWHERE NEAR "cancer in the locker room". If you were a big time prospect, and someone labeled you as that, no matter what forum, somebody who not only has no idea, but has NEVER EVEN MET YOU OR THOSE AROUND YOU, how would you feel? I know how I would, as an athlete and competitor. Being labeled a cancer in the locker is one of the top most shameful things to be labeled.

Another reason I posted, calling him out: it was just 2 days ago, I watched a YouTube vid...it was about Rattler's teammates, and what they've been saying in the last few days, not just what they said the day of/after he was benched. The same theme then and now, the kid is not a bad teammate...ANYTHING BUT!, actually. I'm not the one saying it, his teammates and coaches are. Now, could they all be lying, and I am wrong, of course! However, unlikely. Narratives get set, narratives get followed...from the outside this fanbase was, and still is, the dumbest people on earth for not wanting Greg Shiano as our coach. WE know the reasons why, no one else cares; we are that because Wolken, Thamel, Adams, Hyams, tweets, posts, blogs, blurbs, chat rooms, water cooler guy, buddy says so.

With all that said, i do hope we kick the tires here, for OBVIOUS reasons...this kid IS that dude, not just in hype, he has shown it, MANY flashes of it. Twelve weeks ago, he was winning the Heisman, leading OU to CFP, and the #1 pick...there's a reason why that was. DO DILIGENCE!! Dig deep, if we have to. If he truly is a cancer, Heupel will know it...you think Heupel and those guys don't know a "cancer" when they see one?? However, if he's not, if he's just a cocky a**hole, that HEUPEL can get ahold of...

Ill just say this, if Heupel pursues, I am ALL FOR IT. If he don't, I'm cool with that, as well. Also, don't state opinion as fact.

Your gut reaction was right the first time. You spent too long writing this.

Watching Rattler go to USCjr just to get slaughtered every game would actually be hilarious to watch.
