yea it’s easy to see he’s a Dramatic Upgrade. Hell just about any breathing human being would be an upgrade and this one has real experience

...but couldn't win the job at USC, whereas Fromm did beat out a couple of other guys. Bears mention that prior to Coley melting down UGA's offense, Fromm was being touted as a possible #1 overall.

Worry when it makes sense to worry, but not until. No reason to borrow trouble.

CJP and Smart come from the same school of coaching basically and we all believe CJP to be pretty straight up, I doubt they'd have such wildly differing approaches. If Kirby was not telling kids that he was going to recruit the best players all the time I think he'd have caught it in the butt by now already but instead he just had a second No. 1 class and he's entering his 5th year as head coach, so I think our intel on that is just insiders trying to cover their rear ends after guessing wrong. While Kirby's on field head coaching prowess can certainly be questioned apparently the bowl headed bastard can sell ice to eskimos in recruiting.

Chaney did very well with a Jacob Eason as a freshman. Then he did very well with another freshman in Jake Fromm. He couldn't find a way to get Fields more involved, true. But Fromm was pretty terrific while Chaney was there, so it was hard to get him reps. People also tend to forget that Fromm was considered a potential 1st round QB this time last year. I don't find it a coincidence that his performance drastically changed once Chaney left.
