'19 CA QB JT Daniels (Georgia commit)

Why do we bash Kirby for mismanaging 5 star QBs when Chaney was his OC? But then praise Chaney for getting Crompton to the nfl when he was the OC here.

Maybe Chaney is the problem? None of our QBs looked very good last year.

An argument could be made that Fromm's play declined after Chaney left.

Seriously? I had to Google Todd Monken to even find out where he had coached before Georgia. Has he EVER had any success with a quarterback? He was a massive failure with both Jameis Winston and Baker Mayfield.

I don't even want JT Daniels to transfer to UT. Nevertheless, this Georgia fan you quoted is amazingly delusional.
I think being an NFL OC will always hold a lot of weight. But you're right, he has a meh resume with QBs.

"This would be massive. And if you're JT Daniels, is Todd Monken or Jim Chaney going to give you better odds to get you ready for the NFL? This is just another example why Kirby pulling the cord quickly on Coley and making the best hire possible was so huge. Monken's name has gravitas for offensive players. Chaney isn't a bad OC but he's not Todd Monken. "

Dawg fans are hilarious.
Yeah they are just last year they were all up in Coley’s scrotum talking about how Chaney held Georgia back lol

Personally Idk why he’s so hyped up besides his HS ranking. I guess everybody just thinks he’s gonna improve a ton, which could easily happen. Or not..

But he is a highly coveted transfer (regardless of reason). So I’m wondering when “Kirby’s ways are catching up to him” is actually gonna come to fruition. If they land Mondon and continue to build another elite class then clearly it’s same ole same ole in Athens and nothing Kirby does will effect his ability to recruit

I want HB to start at some point this year so another QB would of just been insane for us to have lol what would that have given us like 6?
I prefer HB starts immediately. JG ain’t winning the East and at least HB has the potential. The rest of the pieces are in place. With this extended practice/fall camp coming up I’m hopeful that HB shows enough to win the job.

no, not that.

i didn't think that you could extrapolate that a new coach that hasn't coached a down of football for their new program could every be a "dramatic upgrade"?

i thought it was always "let's see if he can get a first down before we crown him" type wait and see approach?

hmm. oh well. i guess that only applies for coaches TN hires. lol.
Pump the breaks. Let the debate. Hope I’m wrong but if I am we won’t revisit this. Dokken rules.

Appears to me he knows he isn’t playing next year so he’s looking for the easiest place to win a job.
Georgia mAkes sense since Newman will be gone

This doesn’t tell us anything About Newman
Funny how you always seem to show up when things are negative but you never post when we get a commit....

If we really wanted him at all
Had the transfer rule passed I think he would have been here. Now he can go and sit a year and likely be the starter there next season. Had he came here he'd be battling a second year HB for the job. His odds were much better to be the starter here this year as opposed to next.

I'm not going to act like a Georgia fan and say "Meh, we didn't want him anyway" but can't say I'm terribly concerned about Kirby Smart reviving the career of a guy who got beat out at USC of all places. It's a big pick up for them but we'll see what happens.

Come on down. Sounds like he is really close to pullIng the Trigger for TN. In a VQ article he was waiting to see what JT Daniels did.

Cool. He might want to keep tabs on Jaidon Salter, also. Dude’s just dallying in track and 60,000 plus people voted for him in an internet poll. 😎
