'19 CA QB JT Daniels (Georgia commit)

I get why this is bad, or at least not good.

But while I'm not overly optimistic about our current qb situation, I'm not worried about the future or the long term outlook.

This has boom or bust written all over it for Kirby and history says bust is more likely.

So we'll see.

I think this is as close to irrelevant as possible. Kirby is always going to have multiple highly talented QBs. We are going to have to rely on our staff recruiting close enough to the same talent level and then out coaching them.

I Compared Kirby to Fulmer earlier and we have to what Florida was to us to Kirby if that makes any sense.

"Optics"or whatever, being what they are says this looks one way. Which is fine.

But yeah I'm not really worried about it. This one player doesn't change much of anything in regards to where either program is, relative to one another.

Now, we back up last year's top ten class with what looks to be another (at least) top ten class, and that gap keeps closing...

We're on our way. Just not there yet..I expect/hope more steps are taken this season, on the field.

I fully expect us to close the talent gap over the next few years but I also think they will Always be a little ahead of us talent wise

Eh. It gets to a point where "a little" isn't a huge deal, either way.

Cause that's all we're doing right now relative to UGA and bama ( Florida too, to a slightly lesser extent) is leveling the playing field.

We're not passing them unless they fall on really hard times, soon.

It would be hillarious if Daniels became eligible then Vandagriff decommits.
It would. But him playing now probably eases BV's long term concerns. He comes in as a freshman, at worst jtd is only there one year and gone.

At best he comes in lives up to the hype and leaves for the NFL after one year.

And he and Brock never even share the same locker room.

That poor wake forest transfer... Heisman hopes dashed before they got off the ground.

Poor kid.

If he has to sit this year then that could give Brock some reason to start thinking about alternative plans....

It'll be interesting to see how long it's dragged out before he's declared one way or the other.

Whos says he beats out Jamie Newman?
Not to mention Newman is a Grad Transfer.
He's only playing one year...
Either way, I'm guessing Kirby made some promises to each kid to get them to GA. If he ends up breaking those promises, to either kid, someone is going to be unhappy and let their displeasure be known. Anything that makes Kirby look like a jackass brings a smile to my face.
