'19 CA QB JT Daniels (Georgia commit)

4. Not sure where you’re getting “overstated” from...those are valid scholarships.

VQ mentioned it the other day on their podcast. My understand is if you are under the 85 # you can temporarily handout scholarships to walkons for that 1 season. So I’m not certain all of those players are scholarship players this seasons. VQ didn’t say much, only that there was some flexibility with those.

Correct. A walk-on going on scholarship does not mean that they are permanently on scholarship, only that year.

This is golden

@butchna

We have a 100$ bet and my side says that those walk ons won’t stay on scholarship their entire eligibility here

He thinks once they go on scholarship they are guaranteed to stay on$.

easy $ for me

How will you know who won? Am I wrong or is that info not actually released

One would think. Hubbs always references this happening but never reveal names of players with multiple years of eligibility remaining who had their scholarships yanked...at least in football.

Why do you use the word “yanked”? I think it’s likely they were told this was a 1 year thing

Where’s the videos of the mothers who previously broke down crying that years of hard work have worked out in their babies having a free education? Works with the kid going into his senior year...not so much the most recent 4 who received theirs in their first two seasons. Not one single name. You also need to recognize that Beattie/Bruin originally stated those scholarships would only last one semester. He already seems to have walked that back. 😉

If my kid just won 18k or so for college, I may cry too. You’re attempting to make this normal process seem nefarious. If you have spare scholarships and talented walkons, you reward them temporarily. Nothing wrong with it at all. Everyone wins

Yep. A walk on would be extremely excited to get a 10-15k reward even if it’s only for one semester. It’s crazy to suggest otherwise and yes moms might even cry getting that kind of reward and rightfully so

Thought we already confirmed this with @Takegame33 that Isaiah Montgomery was put on a Full-Scholarship for the rest of his time at Tennessee..... doesn’t that mean ol Bru Bear has already lost?

Names...have any? Hubbs and Beattie don’t. Seth Gilliam received one at the beginning of his senior year...so did Alex Ellis. Nothing “nefarious” there. Saying a kid’s “on scholarship” his freshman year and putting out emotional happy happy joy joy celebration videos over something TEMPORARY? Kinda low rent stuff that’ll come back on you during recruiting. That’s why it hasn’t happened.

Crazy to you doesn’t meet the Webster standard. Odd contrarian duck is odd.

No she didn’t confirm that.
She confirmed it was a full ride which was obvious. All football scholarships are full rides

He’ll never concede. He lost as soon as his mother crowned.
