Schools here also do active shooter drills. I also wonder if that was in place there.

But yes, it’s time to get LEO or trained professionals in every school. It’s a sad state of affairs that it is needed but here we are.

When present day there is no such thing as a legal firearm in a school and schools are being shut up at an alarming rate? There is no understanding outside of opening your eyes to the FACT that unarmed people are being targeted. When those people are kids? There is no one to protect them. The very thing we as adults swore to do with our lives. As long as democrats control the narrative and schools, kids will continue to die. And democrats will continue to use the tragedy as fuel to take your rights away despite it being their policies that are getting people killed in the first place. Deflection at its finest.

I understand you are not against my opinion. But asking me to understand that it’s not a solution is pissing in the wind because we all already know that shooters don’t shoot at places where people shoot back. That’s just facts

I disagree. Turning schools into pseudo prisons will just create more future prisoners.

We don’t even have kids but we always vote for any school related issue on safety or resources when on the ballot. Not so much anymore on the crazy 10k seating silly ass football stadiums.

It really does still take a village.

I don’t think anyone will equate one person roaming the halls for security with a prison.

It’s evident at this point there needs to be some measure of security. Again, don’t know what the situation was at this particular school but it’s hard to imagine that many people would have been killed had an armed security guard been on the premises.

Schools have already gone that way.

At my daughter’s HS:
You have to buzz to get in the school
SRO
Principal walks the halls with a walk-in talkie clearing hallways of poor behavior.

The setting is more close to a detention facility than my HS.

Wrong to operate from fear.

Hey, thanks to that school resource officer in Parkland, there is no legal obligation for them to protect your kids.
