'19 TN CB Woodi Washington

I agree. He won't answer the question. A kid can be competitive and still be pre-madona (not saying he is). People are making assumptions based on what's being rumored, that he's willing to camp at OSU and others but thinks he's too good/takes offense that he's being asked to camp at UT. BB says those rumors are false. That suggest he knows differently. He either knows or he doesn't. I don't know anything about this kid and couldn't give two rat excrements if he comes here or not. I have confidence there are other athletes that are just as good that will want to be Vols and be willing to camp for the opportunity.

By allowing any kid to bypass certain requirements sets a bad example and part of the reason we are where we are today as a football program. IF it's true that he's willing to camp at other schools but thinks he should not be required to camp portrays a lack of respect for the program.

Maybe but yer still forming hypothetical judgment on unconfirmed rumors and assumed reasons. In yer example if he's just not as high on us as he is other schools and that is the assumed reason he doesn't want to camp, is that really lack of respect or just lack of interest and people just take it as lack of respect because he's instate? Would we assume he's disrespecting us or that he's afraid of competition if he was an Alabama or Georgia kid camping with them but not us? If you knew bb wouldn't answer and don't care if the kid comes here then yer purpose in asking those questions just seems like a way to instigate. Maybe it's not but with all the assumptions flying around that seems as likely as any other assumption. If that was not yer intent then I apologize. Just seemed that way.

I never made one assumption. Not one. To be fair not liking is disrespecting. If he'd never shown interest in the Vols it would be different. What he's done, if the rumors are true, he's set different standards for different schools. That shows a lack of respect, IMO. Like I said, I'm not drawing any conclusions in regards to this kid. It doesn't sound like Pruitt is real high on him either.

But you were just trying to instigate with yer questions?

Btw what are we referring to as rumors?

From what I gather the rumor is he wants a UT offer. UT won't offer unless he camps. He feels disrespected because he's being asked to camp but he doesn't feel disrespected by OSU and others asking him to camp.

I think that's the jist of it.

No I was trying to get a clarification. BB said the rumors were wrong, I wanted to know the truth. If you're going to criticize people for being wrong you should at least have the balls to tell them why.

Even if it betrays the trust of the kid? I don't think he should say anything about that. Just because some internet guy can't handle not knowing everything? You said before most kids are entitled. Why do you feel entitled to know all these details? Never mind. I don't need to know. Yall keep trashing the kid or I guess maybe just trying to start ish with bb. Whatever yall like to do in this thread. Have fun. I'll just watch for actual news.

When have I trashed the kid? I'm talking in hypotheticals. I've said I don't give a rats ass about this kid or any kid that doesn't want to be a Vol. My problem with BB is his rant at posters that have an ounce of pride. If the kid wants an an offer, that's been reported by VQ staff, then why if he doesn't have interest in the Vols? Does he want the offer just so he can say he turned it down?

Like I said, I don't care about what this kid does or where he goes because I don't think he really wants to be a Vol. I care about the ones that do. If he doesn't care to be a Vol he shouldn't care whether he receives an offer or not. I'll trust Pruitt on whether he gets one or not.

Those sentences are literally consecutive. 🤔

That's not really trashing a kids character. If you continue to read on I also said it was 99% of all these kids and I didn't blame them, I blamed the adults that make them that way. Maybe you should concentrate on the whole paragraph.

Calling someone a self-entitled immature little diva isn’t a knock on someone’s character? Yeah...okay.

Context look it up. It's a trait that most of these highly recruited kids have.

Edit:

Would you consider being immature a character flaw?

Would you consider being a diva a character flaw? Would you consider being self entitled a character flaw?

Would you consider any of those to be something that a little life experience might correct? Would you consider age to offer a bit more perspective?

And let me add. Many of us at 17, 18, 19 exhibit many of these behaviors. There are things that I did that were very selfish and self centered and was nowhere near being recruiting as a D1 athlete. It's more about immaturity than anything. So no I don't think it's an attack on his or any of these kids character.

Guys,

I get what both are saying here. It sounds like he is trashing the kids because he made a generalized comment about a group of people while blaming the parents. I think InVol has had a rough day. 99 percent is really too high but I am watching an All Star team my kid is on and most kids are middle school age and watching the mom's petting them is even making my wife want to puke and she is a very protective mom. So many of these kids can't accept failure in the game of baseball which is built upon the most successful in the game are failures. Many of these D1 level football players are well grounded but after what I have seen this week of people petting and rubbing their back and telling them how great they are when things don't go their way, it is horrible the way kids are being coddled. If mine messes up, I am not going to tell him he did great and he knows he didn't and needs to work harder to get better. He needs to earn it and sometimes he does earn it but someone with bad judgement doesn't reward him. Well, that's life get over it and just keep working harder to get better. Sports teach life lessons some of which are good and others can be bad. This is a generation over entitled little jerks but some very good and solid kids as well. Not saying anything about Woodi good or bad but I do think CJP is looking for guys who love their mama's but are not mama's boys. It will serve us well in the long run. Sorry for the rant. Maybe old fart InVol and I can both feel better now.

I have had a rough week. 99% is an exaggeration. Also, I'm not just talking about parents. There's a lot of people around these kids that treat them like Gods. Coaches, peers, teachers, media, and more. If you are told every day how great you are by everyone around you it's hard not to get caught up in it.

Not the kids thoughts or words.

A 4 star CB from Georgia just officially visited and wasn’t asked to camp. If I’m a 4 star CB too with similar offers and performed just as good if not better in Opening/3 Stripe Camp settings with Elite prospects only would I not feel slighted? You ask me to camp but not this other guy. That’s with any staff and any prospects at schools. It goes on everywhere but it’s only a big deal with this fanbase I guess. I defended his character only. His offer being based on camping is a rumor that hasn’t been proven either way.

I’m done posting on here about any prospects. Wait on Rivals and anyone else for all the news/evaluations. Fake news and rumors from grown men needs to stop though.

Isn’t this just familiarity with certain recruits and their abilities? Why is the automatic reaction to be offended?

Disclaimer: I have no idea of how well the coaches are familiar with the two subject recruits, but it stands to reason that Pruitt’s recruiting history in GA is still present from his past two gigs. This is just a hypothesis.

This is a message board forum that is devoted to discussion of individual recruits. If a dude gets criticized or praised for decisions he makes pertaining to the Vols it is just part of it. I have heard no one call him a thief, slacker, or a narcissitic sociopath. No one has said anything calling him a bad person.

For example..I think LeBron James is a good and decent human being, but I don't like him for decisions he has made, and how he acts sometimes.

I think saying that posters have trashed this particular player is ridiculous. He has been criticized, but nothing over the line.
