Not necessarily. For whatever reason, Pruitt and the '19 class don't seem to have really connected well. However, I don't think one class is going to define how well he recruits instate.

Now, if he can't reel in the players starting in the '20 class, then he'll have something to worry about imo.

Ive heard it said that the staff doesn't regard the in state 19 talent as high as others do but they do for the 2020 class. Jezz 2020 is hard to fathom

This is tricky. On one hand I get what you are saying. Hold to a high standard and I agree. I think Pruitt and his staff know how to spot talent.

But, Look at this instate talent so far. Its looking like we may get 2 of the top 10 players in the state. Now the problem is, Pruitt made a public statement that he was gonna lock down the state in recruiting. He may have made a huge mistake in saying that.

You either have a standard or you don't.

And if you have equal or better talent that wants to be here enough to make the trip and camp, when the kid down the road won't, then why wouldn't you lean the other way? I mean what really makes Washington a better take than the other guys we're recruiting at the same spot who do make UOV's and camp, aside from the fact he's from TN?

The entitlement culture butch had is gone. And if the TN kids are camping at OSU, FSU, BAMA etc.... then why not camp at TN?

Unless you're just not "all in" on actually playing at TN.

And that's fine. Just remember it takes two to make a relationship work.

Ankle bend
Sizes their knees to see about your height growth
Hips
Durability through a exam
How big of thighs and Butt they have (because that is where the explosion comes from) ya it’s weird but it’s true
Obvious things like explosion, power, tools in the tool belt (moves)

All this scientific data...and projection based of characteristics is...smart.

But man I miss the days where if you thought a guy was the truth then you went after him hard and signed him!

You let the guy reproduce what you see on film or what you see on person Friday nights.

There's also the fact that if you act like it's a privilege to get a UT offer, and play for UT, kids are going to pick that up. If you don't care if they camp, or act like you're not the big time, they'll pick that up, too.

It should come as no surprise what will get you better players, when you've got the staff you do, and the facilities you do, at UT.

I want to have homegrown talent like anybody, but to just throw out a blanket statement that we can’t let talent get out of state? Get out with that. We’re in good with at least 3 5*’s and trending toward a top 10 or even 5 class.

It doesn’t matter where they come from as long as we get big time players.

Woodi has had poor showings at recent camps and Bama has crossed him off. You know this Woody. Doesn’t mean he’s a bad player but it appears, to me, he’s been shut down from camps bc his last 3 have been bad

There's thousands of players coming out of high school each year and we get 25 scholarships. For a full ride at any college, a full set of workouts doesn't seem like much to ask.
Hell, I think I'm really good at what I do but I never expected anyone to hire me without a thorough interview.

No hard feelings towards the kid and would like to have him. But no one should expect the coaches to change their methods to accommodate.

So Rivals Woody does not understand why Pruit wants these kids to camp to get a offer, but at the same time if these kids want a high ranking on Rivals they damn sure better camp with them ?

exactly. and i just keep going back to the fact that we actually do have options. good ones. so if you want to go to TN, and you obviously know you already have competition for that spot, you also know what it takes to get/keep/earn that spot, then you'd do it.

some aren't; they either don't really want to be here or they've been told ever so nicely to look elsewhere.
