The point is that the fools who are dismissing the highest rated in-state prospect, who happens to play at a position of need for us, will be wishing we had a db this good in a few years.
So you complained when Jones took players that didn't have "committable offers" from schools like Bama (under Pruitt) and the players were busts.
And now the same guy from Bama doesn't pursue a player that has no committable SEC offers, except Arky and you complain about that too.
Maybe you just like to complain? 🤔
What if the highest rated guy in our state couldn't hold the jock of the 9th rated player in a different state?
Good enough for Oklahoma. Where is there program at compared to ours right now? They can afford to be selective, so I'd say Washington is pretty good.
I get he was never coming here, but let's not act like he isn't that good just because he didn't pick UT.

LoL. Hes not a bad player, but it appears that UT wasnt the only school that was skeptical about his high ranking.
It will be interesting to see how his career goes in the Big12, where defense is optional.
Well how is he the #1 player in the state at least according to Rivals? Something isn't adding up.
Unfortunately I think it is a bit of spoiled milk on the fans part. I think you try hard to get him even if he is not a shoe in because some of it is about perception.
Is he related to "Jabril Washington" who was at Alabama a few years ago from West Tn? Our in state board is disappointing.
Oklahoma and Oregon are having surprisingly great years on the recruiting trail.
How many db's is ou producing for the nfl? Hell, how many db's is the big 12 producing in that sh!tty defensive conference? Each team scores 45+ pts a game. No team in that conference is a benchmark for db evaluations. Tcu (patterson) is the closest in terms of good defensive schemes
True, but look at the year Oklahoma had last year compared to UT in terms of record and playing in the spotlight. Maybe that is a factor

You are correct in terms of team accomplishment/recognition, but look at their defensive stats. Total defensive: Tennessee 81 OU 67. Small gap for a team that went 4-8 compared to an 12-2 team that made the final 4.
Over the past 4 years, ou has made 2 final fours and several big 12 titles. They accumulated 1 draft pick agmonst their secondary. Over the same timeframe, with incompetent coaching (butch and crew) ut has managed 2 db's drafted. So hes not going to a coaching staff, university, or conference that has a pedigree of getting db's to the league. How often do top rated db's in sec country go to the big 12?
Would have been nice if he had gotten out of the way of his own ego and camped at UT. Then we'd have a better idea of how Pruitt felt about his ability. Nothing wrong with Pruitt asking a kid to "come show me what you got".
