Honestly, and I dont want to ruffle feathers, but I think our staff has been playing against and at times with TN kids (at bama, UGA, etc.) and I dont think they are convinced the rankings match the level of play and talent of these kids yet. Im not speaking about Nash specifically, more a general statement.
weve had some highly ranked players come out of this state these past few years and a surprising amount of them havent done much collegiately. Is that an indictment of the real talent level of the state or the recruiting services/coaching evals/development? I dunno. But what it does look like, from my perspective, is that this staff wants the best players, period. And they dont care where they have to go to get them. I really love getting the in state kids every year but what point is putting a wall around the state if the kids cant produce at a high level?
I think we target many kids out of the Carolinas, Va, Georgia, Florida, LA, Cali, Texas, and the top few guys in state each year. Well also try and get a few out of Ohio, Kentucky and the Virginias with a smattering of highly talented kids in other random states.
Dont expect a third of our class to be from Tennessee anymore with this staff and honestly I think that is the best way to go about it if we want to actually win games. Yes, these kids bleed orange, but the kids in Florida bleed blue, the kids in Georgia bleed red and black, the kids in Alabama, so on and so forth. Its about getting the best kids. And when we were the best weve ever been we got the best kids out of Georgia, Florida, bama, the Carolinas and Virginia and supplemented in state. We need to get back to that to win ballgames. Go watch a highschool game in Georgia where the OL and DL average 285 and then go watch a game in TN where the line are 200 pounders and you realize how the physicality is just on a different level. These kids have been tackling college sized athletes for four years and the transfer of physicality is less severe than the TN kids adjusting to college physicality.
Sorry for the long ass run ons and grammatical errors I have been drinking whiskey.
Go Vols baby we gunna be aight

It doesn't matter, when all said and done the tenn kids will be playing p5 football somewhere..we can argue ..whether the tenn Fan's or Pruitt staff like them or not...Some of them will be on the other side of UT stadium sideline..we all are entitled to our on opinion that's all it is..TN lost out on Shamar today a kid they thought they had...No team in college football ball will ever be successful without retaining some of their own state talent .
Thats just to name a few but keep avoidin the fact that we let our overrated guys leave the state and school like Ohio state, Clemson, Oklahoma,Florida state and other school will say thank ya lol
Im not butt hurt over anybody I just no the inside scope on everything and I kno all of the guys personally not just on the internet .....that cocky bama attitude of his want work with recruitin at Tennessee cause he aint proven himself yet .....anybody can recruit at bama hell its bamaNobody knows what Pruitt wants to do in state or anywhere really. He doesn't give info out. It's all guessing games beyond what he said himself that some years he may only sign 3-4 and some he may want 10 or more in state. He will go for the best talent no matter where they are.
Who says he isn't recruiting in state? He seems to have no issue contacting a wilhoite, knox, Washington, Hampton, Bennett, lampley etc.... just because they didn't have Nash at top of board a few of you are butt hurt. Nash doesn't even look that special compared to wilhoite and Knox at the same position in state
Sure Pruitt will do bout as grate as the others..and his staff is full of coaches that got fired from other schools or let go. Tenn new staff is full of ex GA and FL former coaches ,,and those coaches could not get the job done in those areas and they were where all the talent were..so now they supposed to come to Tennessee and bring in top talent from Florida and GA.but they failed to do that while coaching at those schools.. PLEASE

And those guys you name off are not coming.inside scoop..yea you got lampley..plus those GA cats aren't coming either GA recruits are playing Tennessee..these Tennessee kids are friends with those GA and FL kids I mean top...so no one could have help Pruitt recruit other states better but the Tennessee kids
And Pruitt will only coach at schools that were already winning..so let's see can he get rocky top of the ground because it's really rocky up on the hill.. smoky haven't howl in years..
