I think we have over valued Sampson just because he’s ours if we’re being honest. He isn’t a “once in a lifetime, generational type back”. Sure he was great for us but he didn’t do anything outlandish. Each NFL team probably already has 1-2 backs on the squad as talented or nearly as talented. Add in that the position isn’t as valued as it once was and he falls to late rounds. He will likely fall to a team and be used along with another 1-2 backs per game. Like most teams are now doing.

It is highly debatable, as evidenced by the fact that only a small fragment of Tennessee fans were more impressed by Sampson than Jeanty. Literally no one else is picking Sampson over Jeanty. If their numbers had been remotely similar, you’d have an argument, but Jeanty had over 1100 more rushing yards. A difference that enormous can’t be explained away by the difference in competition level.

Explain why everyone but extremely biased simpletons like you seems to be more impressed with Jeanty than with Sampson, up to and including NFL scouts and execs? You are right that it isn’t debatable who had the more impressive year. You’re just dead wrong in what you believe.

Sampson had two glaring weakenesses that I started to notice as the season went on which may explain some of our offensive limitations.

1. He was terrible at blocking. You often need the RB to block on pass plays. When I was in Athens watching Georgia play, I notice that a lot of the Georgia blitzes that were successful were designed to go after Sampson. They had a free rusher that would often overpower and get around Sampson to get to Nico. After that game, I looked back and there were further trends of this happening

2. He didn't seem to be a big threat with catching the ball. I saw him drop some easy throws and notice he rarely got the ball passed to him. This may explain why we didn't run as much out plays.

Sampson is definitely a talented guy and I think he will do alright in the NFL but he wasn't Arian Foster or Alvin Kamara level back.

The fact that he put up the numbers he has put up speaks volumes to his character and grit. He sounds like a very high character individual based on everything I have heard about him which will take him places.

It would be a terrible pick for the Falcons and exactly what they will probably do because they are the Falcons lol Defensive end is the least of their problems. They still don't have a qb and they have one of the worst secondaries in the NFL.
