I'll answer your rhetorical question. Of course there will be no outcry because; 1) SC is not a top tier program; 2) The media won't say anything about it because they are too busy wetting themselves over SOS being back in the first place.

Amen! I'm getting tired of us (well Colorodo, too) getting all the bad press over our players. Come this fall, all the talk will be how we rolled all over our opp. and how the refs made a difference in a blowout.

every team has it problems, it just espn like to show ours more than everyone elses. I'm ready to see a negative article about Pete Caroll running a bad program because 6 of his starters are going to get kicked off because they are to dumb to pass there classes. then we got steve spurrier talking trash about us and then got two more of his players suspended for smoking. Every team has there problems, I'm just tired of hearing everyone talk about ours.

The media microscope is one of the unfortunate byproducts of success. If we were Mississippi State, nobody would care.

Yeah good point. I guess when your good people pay more attention and try to find a reason to cut you down.

Southern California is a tough freakin' school...

And I'm sick of hearing about the ESPN conspiracy.

The 2 SC players arrested are Ty Irving and Josh Johnson. SC fans are all upset cause they say they can't say anything to UT about their arrest. LOL

Here is report on SC players. However, there is no mention of this on ESPN.com where Spurrier is on the front page of college football section.

Volunteers head coach Phil Fulmer fired back that Spurrier should worry about his own problems and it would appear that karma moved fast on this one.

Glad somebody else picked up on Spurrier jinxing himself. :p

Why? No one is going to report it anyway. It seems he is now the media darling of the sports world.

No offense, Milo, but as long as ESPN continues to highlight EVERY problem at the University of Tennessee while ignoring the same or similar problems elsewhere, there is going to be a conspiracy theory. You need to either get used it or root for a team ESPN idolizes. And that sure isn't the University of Tennessee.

I'm with you Milo. The ESPN bias thing is way overused.

Georgie, you don't remember when ESPN did the "Outside the Lines" thingy for a MONTH about the academic issue with Linda Bensel-Meyers while the other headlines on their site were about a student at Nevada getting stabbed, some players at Colorado getting busted for drugs and various other sordid deeds at various other schools? Don't you remember the greatest QB in the history of football getting shafted out of the Heisman because of ESPN's politicking? Maybe you don't. I do.

ESPN's media microscope must have only one lens and it must be trained on the University of Tennessee.
