2 spread option team playing at Atlanata right now for the SEC title

When the ball is snapped, the formations are pretty much the same. Auburn may use more motion to get there... To be honest, with a team that has just learned the system, I'm not sure how much window dressing the staff should add in the first year. Just get them in position, snap the ball, and run the play.

This is the difference. To run an offense successfully, especially the spread, you have to do a lot of window dressing. It was evident that was not the case with us. We were still telegraphing the run in the shotgun and instead of using Pig and Devrin in the back field at times like the better offenses do, we kept them lined up in the slot, and just ran jet sweeps or reverses. Another thing we need is an H-back that's physical and can deliver hits instead of take them. We need that in the worst way.

Wolfe will provide this, but you also must realize that Dobbs isn't the running QB these other guys are. I don't care if you are a freshman or senior, you either know how to run or you don't. Mizzu and Auburn both showed they are vulnerable to the run, yet Dobbs didn't do anything spectacular against them, including the Aubrun game when he ran for 40+ yards. Dobbs won't command the respect that a Marshall or Manziel does running the ball, so he has to learn to throw accurately to open up then run for himself more. The jet sweeps and end runs are great, but again who's really a threat for us running those plays? PIG? We tried that crap every game and it never worked, except for a few times. We are a power running team. We don't have the speed to do what Auburn does. I don't mind the option spread, but at the end of the day we have to find someone who can throw the ball and someone who can catch it and make plays.

Now we're going to see a spread offense in the National Championship! The last time we (Tennessee) won a national title it was with a quarterback who was mobile as well...

Missouri made the SEC East look crappy this year--they have a few players on offense but I came away from last night thinking they were a fraud helped considerably by playing most of their tough games at home. Giving up 60 points in the title game? Please. That is pathetic.

Giving up 42 in a win isn't a Picasso either.
