'20 VA C Dylan Cardwell

No, he hates Hall because he's white, and his justification is that our last several white players haven't been instant All-Americans, so obviously no white player can ever be successful at Tennessee.

And he also hates Barnes.

Damn. I guess this means Plavsic is already a surefire failure. Might as well bench him even if his waiver is cleared. His skin color clearly means he is an inferior athlete.

Take them both
If only... It doesn’t take a genius to assume that they will wait to get a read on Hall during his visit first. If we don’t get a commitment from Cardwell after that, I take that to mean either they feel good about their chances with Hall, or they like him that much better as a player and are willing to about their chances with Hall, or they like him that much better as a player and are willing to wait on him and risk losing out on Cardwell.

There is also the possibility that Cardwell wants to be a Vol so bad that he is willing to be a back up plan.

I really do like Cardwell, I'd be perfectly fine with either. I think Hall is more polished currently and more athletic that he shows on the court but I think Cardwell has higher 2-way potential and motor.

Hall’s probably ranked in the 50-60 range for a reason...what’s Caldwell ranked? 150-200 range ? Probably a reason for that also

Cardwell is #115 on rivals. What was Grant Williams ranked? DJ Burns? Yves Pons? Jalen Johnson? Admiral Schofield? Jordan Bowden?

Whats Caldwell ranked on the others than Rivals? CRB’s proven he can spot talent and if he said he wanted Caldwell over Hall then I’d say we should all want Caldwell also. Maybe I’m missing something, but it appears Hall is CRB’s first choice and Caldwell is the plan B?

Absolutely, so if we missed on Springer and took Cam Hayes it means he’s no good? Just because Hall is option 1 doesn’t mean option 2 isn’t also really good.

You are projecting, here. He never said anything about Cardwell not being any good. Didn't even insinuate it. Just that it seems that Hall is choice #1, and that the rankings seem to clearly bear that out and justify it.

Said Caldwell is ranked 150-200 for a reason...what would that reason be?

Fwiw Rob Lewis said he believes Caldwell is the better fit in his opinion for Tennessee.

I don't worry about rankings very much with Barnes coaching here. He is a very good judge of talent and will only sign players that he knows have a lot of talent and upside.

I'm not so sure anyone has a higher ROM than Hall.

I'm not so sure anyone has a higher ROM than Hall.

I'm basing it mostly off some videos on YT where he -wasn't- featured. He had a few other recruits on his AAU team and I watched their videos. He blended in too much when he wasn't the focus for me. He won't be the focus his first year here at UT and possibly ever so I want the guy that has the visible high motor and impacts the game without the ball. Again, I'd LOVE either guy and I think they're both great players. This is just my opinion and view. Really don't think we could go wrong with either one and I'm sure there's a reason Barnes like Hall more.

That he is not perceived to be as good as Hall, who is bordering on top 50-60. Nothing more, nothing less. You seem to be looking for an argument that doesn’t exist.

And I respectfully disagree with Rob Lewis because I think Hall is quite a bit more polished and talented than Caldwell. Not that DC is a bad player, but I am very high on Hall. Caldwell may be a better fit, but I think in this case, the talent gap is more than the fit gap.
