2008 Basketball Commitment List

If Childress isn't playing this year, then there is no way he will play next year.

Childress, had pink eye, and then the flu. Was out for 3 weeks, lost weight and strength and lost his time to Brian Williams. Childress is serviceable.

And he can shoot outside which is something we will need next year. Tabb can shoot but he cannot create his own shot like Lofton and JaJuan. I think that is what we will miss. But our inside presence should make up for that.

It certainly doesn't help that he has been sick since the SEC season started.

If he can get back to the level that he was at during the tournament last year, that would be scary for other teams.

If everyone else around the nation think we're ridiculously deep and talented this year then we have a nice surprise for them next year...

P.S. - No seniors on next year's roster (except Childress) so add in Kenny Hall, maybe Mcdonald and whoever else and we are looking at possibly 10 guys on our 2009-2010 roster that would start for anybody in the country

It's possible Tennessee will lose 1 or 2 players to the NBA Draft before Kenny Hall makes it to campus. Tyler Smith will likely leave after his junior season, and speculation is that Ramar Smith may pull a Rajon Rondo. Also, if UT is lucky enough to land Hopson, he could be a one-and-done player.

That would be the dumbest thing that he has ever done.

My source is from my friend's brother's roommate who goes to kentucky and knows Hopson pretty well.

Well, that closes the book on recruiting for the Class of '08. Things sure turned out a lot better than they looked when we lost several guards while waiting on Williams, only to not get him. We came out winners in the end.
