10-2 BCS Bowl
you know what i see on this schedule.....only 4 true away games. and only three games out of the state of FL, and two of those are to the same state. and let's see...@ TN, meyer is 3-0. @ Vandy Meyer is 3-0, @ Ark Meyer is 1-0 and @ FSU meyer is 3-0.

if i'm a FL fan, eh hem, i'd be feeling pretty good aobut next season. for the first time in a couple of years, i'd say their schedule is fairly easy. sets up well for a NT run. there's not one game on that schedule that i can say "that's a loss" and really mean it.

The thing that is so great about it is that Florida is going to get some early kudos from folks about playing much tougher opening games than usual. The irony of that, of course, is that Hawaii and Miami = Troy and FAU.

There is reason to be worried about his attitude, to be sure. I am just hoping that the year off has given him a little perspective and that he'll see that the presence of all of those other stars around him will be what gives him a chance to actually be successul. I mean, with Tebow and Harvin and a handful of other receivers, there ought to be plenty of opportunity for Moody to break some big runs as the defenses will be spread so thin.

Yeah USCw is full of bums....Definately no stars on that team....Come on Law...

Moody has been overshadowed his whole career...He played second fiddle to Jimmy Clausen in highschool, couldnt hack it on USC....What makes you think that a USC reject is going make a significant impact against SEC defenses...Even if he was the second E-Smith, it won't matter because Meyer would rather run Tebow...

UGA would appear to be the toughest game. Hawaii stinks, and we all know it deep down. Miami is a shadow of a shell of their former selves. They suck. LSU will be good, as usual, but they lose quite a bit and have to come to Gainesville. UT, well, we'll just have to agree to disagree. FSU is now in complete freefall. It'll take them 4 years after Fisher offiically takes over to come back and that isn't going to happen in the next 365 days, anyway.

The offense at Florida has not been a problem, although now with a better running game we can control the clock a bit better, I think. We can score points. With an even marginally better defense, we ought to be able to beat everyone on that schedule fairly handily.

Remember, our three losses were by a total of 19 points. We were darn close as is and with all that freshman and sophomore talent becoming upper classmen, Florida is primed for a major run.

Do you really think that Georgia is going to be a tougher game than playing UT in Knoxville??

yep. i look at it and honestly think it's a two game schedule.....TN (only because it's on the road and so early) and GA, because GA did win this year and they should be pretty darn good next season. Miami, FSU are notable for name value only. USC, ARK, LSU, KY should all be taking at least a step back next season. Ole Miss won't be a threat.

but even with that, i can't see FL losing back to back games to GA. and i'm not ready to say that we're going to win either.

this is alltogether very depressing.

if there is one bright spot, maybe you'll get penalized like Auburn for having the Citadel on your schedule.

I'm not sure, to be completely honest. UT is always tough and especially so on the road. But we just waxed them 59-20 and managed to lose to UGA. They'll still have their running back, but your passing game is suspect and I'm sorry but their defense was a lot better than yours was.

I'm not saying your defense didn't get better -- it did. Just saying that as I look at those games a year from now, UGA is at least every bit as scary as UT, maybe even a bit more.

Nobody gives a flying turd about "quality" losses in football. Just doesn't matter. 3 losses is 3 losses.

Pathetic defensive young guys are as likely to grow into pathetic defensive older guys as they are to blossom into great players. I don't like the UF D and don't see that unit wrangling a NT until it shows massive improvement.

i don't even understand why the NCAA bothers with playing all the games.

they should just ask LG what he thinks will happen and just go with that.

As opposed to Booty, Jarrett, Bennett and the best LT in the nation blocking for him in Sam Baker?

Please.

LG you've really been teetering on going over the edge lately, but you normally know a lot about football. Surely you don't think the all great "spread offense" is going to last do you? It won't make an average RB anything more than an average RB. if you think differently you really need to have your head examined and i'm taking a mental note that if I'm ever in Orlando and need a lawyer I'm paying the extra cash and calling someone up from Miami.

Offenses come and go. They get figure out. Teams on your schedule recruit and prepare to beat you. Its the way it always has been.

Right now, I think the spread works in college because very few college defenses have enough 5-star athletes to cover all of the threats. Think about it -- if you face a team like Florida that next year has a Heisman trophy winning QB, a sure fire first round WR, plus probably two other NFL prospect WRs, and then they ad in a 5 star RB, you have to have a very fast and talented defensive secondary and you have to have the depth to deal with injuries.

Going into college, seems like most of the very best athletes get sent over to the offensive side of the ball. Just not that many defenses that have the personel to compete with it.

The great "You're F'ed" offense how could I forget?
the real question is how did it lose 3. Either the saint didn't get it done, it wasn't all it was cracked up to be, the defense blew in a big way or some combination of all of the the above.

If I were LG, and thank goodness I'm not, I would stop touting so much gimmick O until the D is of the caliber to win consistently the games they should. Guess when you don't know any better and you're a UF fan, you simply fall back to your knees and service Tebow.

I find it more laughable he thinks UF will win all the games "handily".

Being a homer is one thing, but come on...

I'd say that pretty much sums it up.

the defense had more to do with it than the offense. couldn't stop LSU on 5 4th down plays.

couldn't stop Auburn's running game

GA and Moreno shredded the FL defense.

not trying to be a spread offense or LG apologist, but the offense didn't lose any games this year.

Yeah the O was tops in the SEC...but UF will only go as far as it's D...especially in this league.

That Hawaii game worries me....especially at how vulnerable the secondary looked all yr...thats gonna be a high scoring game.

FL will throttle HA, esp a HA w/out CB. i'll go on record right now and say if FL loses to HA in the swamp next year that will be as big an upset as Appy st over Mich this year.
