Hmm..I do not know the guy at all. What did he do that is so awful? Some on here hated pearl before his divorce and you can spell their reasons J E A L O U S Y, but it sounds like you have some real reason you despise horn. What puppy did he strangle?

Without elaborating, it was a combination of complete and utter disregard for former players at WKU once he accepted the SC job, total douchebagery and elitism related to former WKU staff (janitors, facilities management, etc), being a complete dick at public events (golf scrambles, charity events) where he failed to respresent the university in any form or fashion, and several other events not mentioned. (FYI, these are events which I witnessed personally, not hearsay).

Most people do not know it, but his relationship with the university and its major contributors (Houchens Industries, the billion dollar corp out of Bowling Green that basically funds the athletic program of WKU) had deteriorated in such a way that even though they made the sweet sixteen, it was a great chance that he was going to put out on his ass in Bowling Green either way. Yeah, there are reports that WKU matched SC's offer, but make no mistake there were not many that were sad to see him go.

Taking the SC job was an easy way to get the hell out of town.

Overall, he's just not a guy you can like, nor is he respectable.

I would hire Scott Drew or Dave Bliss before I'd hire Darrin Horn. I'll leave it at that.

I love the concept that holding someone in contempt for taping a conversation with a 17 year old kid constitutes jealousy. I guess I should practice ambulance law and hold the moral high ground instead of actually being able to litigate and make a good living.

Employment law? It is true that people call that the moral high ground compared to being a scum sucking criminal defense attorney looking for ways to help the guilty avoid punishment. I did turn down many opportunities in that profession, and I have won every criminal defense case I have taken. Litigating against an overwhelmed prosecutor who desperately wanted to plead out so they could avoid having to do the work of a trial is actually not all that hard.

Bragging about litigating as a criminal defense attorney means you are not good enough in your profession to get 95% of your clients a good deal through a plea deal based on the fact that the prosecutor knows that if they screw up in the slightest they will lose. Unless you represent true low lifes like serial rapists who will not be offered a plea deal.

Compare the three or four guys KY has coming in to the three or four guys they lost and then compare the three guys USC has coming in to the three guys they lost.

I guess that is relative. If their out of conference schedule is weaker and they win more games, I'm not impressed.

Most of my "involved" analysis of other teams is whether I will feel concerned about the Vols losing to them. I was worried when we faced USC in Columbia this past season. I don't think I'll be that worried this season, all subject to change of course after much BB viewing in 2010 and January 2011.

This is very interesting to reread and summarizes why I am very different from many who post on our board.

I want the SEC teams to win every single OOC game and then lose to TN. When I see improvement for LSU or South Carolina having more wins this year than last, I am not saying they are candidates to win the conference, I am saying that they will not lose those early OOC games to sunbelt teams.

The game I hated most last year was watching Vanderbilt collapse in Nashville with Ogilvy playing like utter crap. It hurt our conference reputation, our RPI etc.

I fully expect that even though it is young talent, that teams like LSU, Arkansas and South Carolina will have more OOC wins. If they do, the fact that TN will beat them will just look better.

Tennessee will be the best team in an especially weak S E C this year. Don't really care that the the rest of the league will suck. I root for the best team and against the rest....
