Ya know, in the past, Vol football had at least one Gooch who played for us before, I think it was late 60's or early 70's (I will look it up). This is a solid orange name.:good!:

Well, nobody heard of Cody before Saban got him outta JC. Alabama got a left tackle outta JC that started all year for them last year and I never heard of him till they got him. Jackie Sherrill used to build a whole team of jucos.

You guys need immediate help. Not just some 17 year old kid out of HS.

This guy came out of the wood work. Was there any info on this guy the past few weeks? I was banking on Hendikson.

The fact this came out of nowhere should have some people asking themselves if maybe there is more to DD than they're giving him credit for. Nobody saw this coming. Means his staff has been working stealth mode. Alot of negative fans are going to be eating their words in a few years.

True on the help, but if he is available at this late date he is most likely a plan B or back up for a really thin OL. I don't see him starting, maybe spot playing or abody to fill a slot if there is an injury..

I promise Dooley didnt go get Gooch to be a back up. in the article he said how much Dooley loved the fact he never had one bad exchange.

there were teams goign in after him this late out of necessity yes, but also because they feel he can play and contribute.
No DI coach signs Juco kids to ride the pine, they are brought in because coaches believe they can help immediately.
sometimes it doesnt work out but the plan is to get Juco Guys in the line up ASAP

Agreed. That is true words of reason. Gooch was signed in order to step in immediately and help the OL. If he was offered and signed via our staff, he can obviously play in the SEC, or at least our coaches think so.
