Yea, I think JaWuan will definitely get some minutes backing up the 2 starters at OT and probably overtake D. Thomas as a starter next year. Right now, I believe the other 3 will redshirt. I can't really see Stone or Fulton getting time at Guard right now. Pope and Brimfield should stay in front of them even though they are awful.
IMO, our lack of quality depth makes it likely that Stone and Fulton will play this fall.
We'll only have 14 bodies on the OL, not counting walk-ons. Of those, Pair will probably need time to bulk up. That leaves 13.
Several of our returnees (Anderson, Brimfield, Pope, Shaw and maybe Revis) are not SEC-caliber linemen, IMO. Brimfield has the body to be one but not the requisite work ethic/desire. Revis may develop into a decent player, but I think he's likely at least year away. Let's be optimistic and say that leaves 9 guys.
V. Thomas hasn't played a down on the OL since high school and he never made a significant contribution as a DT during his UT career. I think it's wishful thinking to expect him to help us much this fall, but the sheer dearth of able bodies may necessitate his being named a starter...that's pretty scary.
Also, we rarely make it through a season without a starter or two missing some games due to injury.
So given what we have to work with, it's hard to imagine that Stone and/or Fulton won't see action this fall, ready or not.
FWIW, had Fulmer not turned up his nose at instate guard prospects David Spurlock (Florida St.) and Will Jackson (Georgia Tech), we'd be in much better shape right now.
