2011-2012 MLB offseason thread

Younger than Pujols. I don't think it's as bad a contract as some may think. He's only missed 13 games since 2006(least missed games in MLB in that time span)

Players go down hill quickly after 32-33. Even quicker with bad bodies. They'll be hurting in 5-6 years., especially if Cabrera doesn't take care of his body.

Although, playing 1B and DH will definitely help. Tigers will be competing for WS for the next 5 years at least, so a good singing for now.

I don't see Prince's production dropping off that much for at least seven-to-eight years. Sure, it'll take a dip in the latter half of the deal, but I don't think the Tigers will see anymore than one or two seasons of unworthy production.

You have to consider that by the end of this contract, there will likely be a $35-40M player if contracts continue to inflate at this rate. Therefore, Prince will probably earn his money at DH.

Glad its them and not the marlins. Offseason moves have surprised me so much

He should have just 'served the suspension' last year, then 'retired' after the fifty games. Then returned right away in Oakland.
