Rodriguez and Piazza put up better numbers(Rodriguez with a few more years of playing time). Lopez is just over 200 RBIs behing Posada. Piazza and Rodriguez will get into the HOF. Posada is boderline IMO

Lopez was also a pretty good defensive catcher, while Posada was not.

I'm sorry, but I can't imagine Jorge Posada getting serious HOF talk if he played for the SF Giants. JMO. I don't think he deserves in, and I don't think it's as close as it should be.

I agree that he isn't a HOF. however, javy Lopez was not a good defensive catcher and juiced out of his mind.

I've never been in the box vs anything over 94 so I imagine 103+ has always been terrifying (smile)

I have seen a decent amount of 92-94 range... and 97-98 once, which didn't last long.

Pineda to Yanks for Montero and hopefully more for the Mariners' sake.

Edit: Looks like the more is Hector Noesi. Risky trade for Seattle as I think Pineda will be a stud pitcher with 5 years of control, but obviously Montero has a Miguel Cabrera ceiling, so they could end up with a good trade.

They have to hope Hultzen and/or Paxton can step in fill in Pineda's large cleats.


Edit again: Jose Campos also going to the Yankees. Pretty good pitching prospect from what I've heard. I like this trade for the Yankees, but it can definitely be a win/win if Montero hits like projected.

I hate to see Montero get traded but I think its a good trade. I wonder if the Yanks will bring back Posada to DH?

I believe the Yanks have another good catching prospect.

This is a good trade for both teams.

Yeah, they still have Gary Sanchez. Montero may not have stuck at catcher anyway.

Not 110% sold on Pineda, but he has a power arm.

Wonder what happens to the DH spot for the Yankees. Carlos Pena wouldn't shock me.
