Roddick's game never changes... big serve.. always gets pushed around in a rally.

always seems to be in a tiebreaker.

That's his game in a nutshell. Seems always best to curb your expectations when watching him. That said, I've seen him live a few times and I really don't care for his on-court demeanor. It would be nice if another American would explode on the scene.

I think Kid Bourbon and Dyron Nix should have to show their hall passes when they post next :p Wasn't KB gonna give us a detailed analysis?

Kid playing Roger came to play. It's quite evident how little a window of opportunity one has to jump in and take advantage at the slightest mistake. Good tennis, in other words..

Hannah Storm (if that's her real name) has about as much business anchoring a tennis tournament as a NASCAR race.

I've been super busy at work and haven't been able to watch a single point of live tennis so far.

Based on the French, I think it is not unrealistic to put Federer as a favorite to win here. The caveat: this reminds me too much of the U.S. Open last year where Federer came in with brilliant form and lost a classic five-setter to Djokovic in the semis. If they both get there, expect a classic.

I would also say I think Murray might get to the final and have a shot at winning this thing. Can't believe I actually typed that, but it has to happen at some point because he is too talented.

Nadal is always capable of winning it all so he can't be ruled out, although I wouldn't be surprised to see him exit early this year.

Djokovic is clearly ready this year and, depending on the semi outcome, would give him an even shot at taking home the hardware.

So, I would put the favorites in this order (1) Federer, (2) Murray/Djokovic (4) Nadal.

Anyone have information on whether a Knoxville theater will be showing the men's semis and finals in 3D? This was heavily promoted back months ago and I haven't heard much about it since.

I checked the local theater's websites and it is listed but with no showtimes. Says they will email me if they actually show these matches. How cool would this be?

That's a shame about not being able to see any live action. You really didn't miss too much. Some good tennis by Nadal's opponent (Russell) and Fed's opponent (forget his name) but they went away after the first, as you've seen many times, I'm sure.

Dunno about Murray. I get the feeling he will sniff at it a few times and never get there. Who knows, tho. I am actually looking for his fellow Brit, Ward, to make some noise.

I certainly agree w/ you about Nadal. He seems rusty for some reason. I have him getting to the quarters and that's it in my bracket.

I'm biased toward Fed (been a fan since he began) and hope he does great. I think it's his to win or lose, but then, I'm biased.

Djokovich is a beast right now. If anyone can beat Roger out of it, it's him. I think it's between those two, not that that's going out on a limb too much.
(edit) I should say I think the winner of their match, should they meet, will win it.

I heard an interesting possibility today somewhere that if Federer wins the title at Wimbledon and Nadal fails to make the final, Federer will supplant Nadal at #2 in the world.

Oh yeah, Nadal's quarter has some potential heavy-weight matchups in there: Raonic, Del Potro, Berdych. Wow. He might come through, but might be bloodied along the way. Berdych isn't a threat, but Raonic and Del Potro have a puncher's chance to stir it up a little.

I love watching Wimbledon. I was pissed Isner/Mahut didn't get Centre Court. Also upset Mahut shat all over the 2nd set. That's where he clearly lost it.
