Any time table on Rhyne Williams' decision to leave or stay?

Not of which I am aware. He'll probably be hitting the futures/challenger circuit pretty hard this summer, and if he wins a tournament or two, he'll have to think hard about making the jump. Also, if he qualifies for the open and is able to win a match or two, that will factor heavily. Sucks that he didn't win the ncaa's, or he'd have an open wildcard. The USTA will probably give a wildcard to that scrub Donald Young...don't even get me started.

Hey mphs blues: your guy Mannarino plays Fed
Posted via VolNation Mobile

I would be remiss if I didn't mention how much I would like to grow out a "Mannarino Mullet."

I have no idea what is going on with that hair cut, but I am envious!

Almost as cool as the dude's hair from Arcade Fire.

Just got back from work and one of the first things I saw was Lisicki serve at 122 out wide. Pretty impressive speed.

Andy Roddick still sucks, I wish they just wouldn't even bother covering him.

And my girl Ana is gonna make a run either here at Wimbledon or at Flushing Meadows, maybe both. I wanted to call it before Wimbledon started, but my online time has been severely limited as of late.

He can thank an ebb between great eras for his lone major. I don't think he's an underachiever; I just don't think he was ever really that good. Getting to wimby final in 09 was impressive, but that was surely his last hurrah.

Fed would never articulate this in a non-smug* manner, but Nalbandian scares the bejesus out of him. Nalbandian is commonly considered a top 5 talent whose love for the nightlife never permitted that kind of rise to the top.

*And this is my beef with Federer. Why is not a single person in the media willing to call him on his condescending arrogance? I don't even care that he is earth-shatteringly smug; rather, it just bothers me that nobody is willing to call a spade a spade. Unrecognized arrogance bugs me. If I were a reporter after Roland Garros when he said it was his level of play who dictates the winner, and not Rafa's, I would have called him on it. "so Roger, are you saying that you've simply played poorly in every major final against rafa the last, Jesus tap dancing Christ, 4 years? Or are you just an ungracious dick?

Roddick is like one of those highly touted recruits you hear about and how they are going to be a superstar and 4 years lately you suddenly think "Hey what happened to so and so, wasn't he supposed to be awesome?" Roddick did at least win a major I guess but it just seems like he's been around forever and still hyped as a big tennis name yet you look that he's pushing 30 and realize he's probably about done.

absolutely. He's got talent, but he can never put it all together. I just hate that he's the best American male on the circuit. I know that Eastern Europe, well all of Europe honestly has seriously amped up their tennis interest in the past 15 years or so, but it's disheartening that there isn't an American male that has stepped up in so long. I don't see that changing anytime either.

I have no beefs with elite stars being arrogant. I think it's part of it. Look at Tiger? I think he's as arrogant as they come, but it comes with the territory. If you don't know you're the best inside your head, you're definitely not going to be the best at your occupation.

I disagree with this. He's more like a low 4* recruit, but he's the only one we've got. He's above average, dare I say, good. The problem is that he's the best American, so his hype supersedes his talent. We Americans are so used to the best American being the best in the World that when it's not the case, we don't know how to properly follow that sport.

As I said, I don't either. But people acknowledged jordan's arrogance, and
lebron, and bonds and etc. Etc. Federer is universally lauded as some humble gracious champion when literally nothing could further from the truth. Dude is dripping with smug, and this crystal clear in every single interview he does.

The arrogance is fine By me. It is the immunity pedestal I could do without

I wonder what a $100 bet on Tomic winning (prior to the tournament) would bring in if he pulled it off. Kid is playing pretty solid.

Can't wait for the Nadal/DelPo match. That one should be good. Ferrer and Jo Willie should be a battle, as well. Ferrer has played pretty well thus far. Dropped one set all tourney, I think.

I'll find the odds on tomic. I don't see him beating djoker though I like his game.

Prediction: once again, straight chalk in the semis. Or delpo and the other 3 if he comes back here. After that...snyone's game.
