2012 GOP Nomination

Your opening up a can of worms. Way too ambiguous to go down that road.

What if both houses of congress were filled with Ron Paul's offspring and Wilson is back in office? You still think Mr. Veto is successful?

Poll: President Obama trails in swing states - MJ Lee - POLITICO.com

In a dozen key swing states across the country, President Barack Obama is trailing Mitt Romney by 5 percentage points and Newt Gingrich by 3 percentage points, according to a new Gallup/USA Today poll on Tuesday.

The survey, which included Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin, found that Obama is running behind the former Massachusetts governor, 43-48 percent, while he is losing to the former House Speaker, 45-48 percent.

The results from the dozen swing states are worse for Obama than his performance nationwide, where he leads Gingrich by 6 percentage points and Romney by a single point, the poll says.

Meanwhile, the survey also showed that the number of Democrats declined in the swing states while the number of Republicans rose since 2008, painting a drastically different electoral landscape for the president’s 2012 reelection efforts. In the dozen key states, the number of self-identified Democrats in these key states fell from 35 percent to 30 percent since 2008.

During the same time period, the number of Republicans rose by 5 percentage points, while the number of independents increased by a whopping 7 points – from 35 percent in 2008 to 42 percent. In the 12 swing states, 44 percent of those surveyed are conservatives and 21 percent are liberal.

ouch for #44

Hahaha OS. I am far from prefect. I am my toughest critic; I always think I can do a better job articulating my points/argument.

BTW...where is that response buddy :p

Same crap as the last 12 years.........which democrat do you want as president, wish bubba would have declared himself emporer.

Heads up..The Fox News Republican Presidential Debate will be held tonight at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern. :hi:

RealClearPolitics - President Obama vs. Republican Candidates

Clearly, Gingrich is not the candidate to vote for if you want Obama out of office.

The thing about Romney is that it's almost a toss-up between he and Obama right now. But if you look at the 'Republican' vs. Obama, the Republican has an edge. That tells you people want Obama out of office, but none of the candidates really do it for them. If Romney can sell himself better over the next several months, he will be the next President.

This election is about the Republicans. POTUS is theirs for the taking.

I wish Fox News would make these figures apparent to their viewers. I have heard so many times that Paul is the only one who doesn't have a chance against Obama. The truth appears to be that Romney and Paul are the only ones who have a chance.

Probably not, but polling within 5 points of Obama makes him viable, IMO.

As long as people think he isn't viable, he has no chance at POTUS.

Thats with obama's poll numbers as low as they are. Also, hes been busy presidenting (or golfing. Whatever) while the gop has been campaigning away. Obama is just now starting his own campaign.

Obama never stopped campaigning the second he got elected.

I don't understand how anyone that considers themselves Republican, Conservative, Libertarian or anything else to describe the right could vote for Newt Gingrich. I cannot think of a single argument for Newt Gingrich. Not one.

Why would anyone vote for an elderly crybaby who was forced to resign as Speaker?

Paul has broad appeal with parts of his message. Some like his fed policies, some like his military non intervention stance, so on and so forth. I'm sure nearly everybody likes one part or another of his platform but it's only his hardcore following that like all of it.

for the same, or similar, reasons why people would vote for a junior senator who's only real skill is the ability to read from a teleprompter
