my point was simple.

butch jones is not wile e. coyote, super genius. he'll win when he has better players. when he doesn't have better players, derek dooley can beat him.

Ill take that. Statistically that is better that Muschamp, who has the talent to beat anyone in the SEC besides Bama. How'd that Louisville game go again?

The thing I took away from this at the time, and it still holds true, is that the Cincinnati team we dominated early in the season improved all year. To beat Vandy using a zone option running attack when the QB is not an option because of injury was fascinating to say the least.

Vandy had every reason to be up for this game: playing in front of a home-state crowd in an important recruiting area after a tough loss to us. Cincy pounded the rock on them hard!

I believe if were bowl eligible and were given rematch with Cincy, they would have beaten us with ease.

Our trajectory under Dooley every year was to get worse as the season progressed. At first I thought it was injuries, but obviously that was only one factor.

Even with injuries, Coach Jones' Cincy teams got better as the season progressed.

That is the key take away and what I expect him to bring to Rocky Top.

lol of course Butch stomped candy's 2 star joke team. Nice that we have a coach that can put Candy back where they belong.

Even if it is Vandy, Butch beat them with a Big East team. A Big East team with considerably less talent than Vandy had (remember we destroyed Cincy and barely beat Vandy in OT that year)

If that's your reasoning then Charlie Strong should have been national coach of the year. UF > Vandy.
