2013 F Austin Nichols (Memphis Briarcrest)

Why do we have a thread that's essentially devoted to Memphis basketball on the Vols basketball forum? Those cowards opted out of playing us so I see no reason this should be on the Tennessee forum seeing as we no longer have anything to do with the scum-bum. I vote this trash be sent over to around the NCAA forum with the other threads devoted to Kentucky recruiting classes and Florida spring games.

Yeah, I'm SO sick of hearing about Memphis basketball on here. I've been banned for life on the Memphis board, we should definitely do the same for some posters on here.

Thought your old avi was Javy Lopez ever since I joined. Till I have been seenin your boy Gattis killing the ball on SC.

The Braves look good this year.

Haha no. Although Javy was one of my favorites in his day. Yep. They are looking great so far. This weekend will tell us a lot about the season. Huge series.

You don't lose Black and get better, Memphis is very thin in the post next year, especially considering Goodwin's issues with foul trouble.
Didn't say they would get better but when you are 6'9" 260lbs and you get outrebounded by 190lb Will Barton, you have issues. That said, it is true that they are already thin on the front line. More time for Austin I guess. With Adonis and Tarik both leaving, there is still room for a JUCO, graduate transfer, etc.

Sorry didn't mean you specifically, just seeing a lot of tiger fans saying that.

If Memphis can't pull a transfer may be better off holding the scholarship, not much left out there as Tennessee fans are finding out right now.

Yep, Memphis is afraid to play UT............

That's like saying UT is afraid to play Memphis in FB. FYI, the ADs are discussing renewing the games.

Good players want to be surrounded with other good players. At UT, a few good players, but too many guys wasting a spot. Too many 3 star and below.

Good players want to be first-round picks. Four seasons in, Pastner still hasn't recruited a single one of those. Jackson, Barton, and Thomas were all 5-star recruits, and all saw their NBA potential fall off a cliff at Memphis.

I'm not a Memphis fan, but what has Cuonzo done that is better? Cuonzo has been coaching longer than Pastner and Pastner is still getting Top 5 classes in recruiting...just saying...:ermm:

I'm not necessarily a Cuonzo fan either, but he was at Missouri State. If you go to Memphis, you already know pretty much 100% that your draft stock will drop. It may be true here too if Martin doesn't develop Hubbs, but he's at least an unknown at this point. No question McRae's stock has improved, even if Stokes' hasn't.

He could ride a bicycle to the homes of most of his recruits.

Cuonzo Martin has exactly one more year of coaching experience than Josh Pastner. He spent three years of that coaching at Missouri State. Not a great comparison. NCAA tournament appearances aside, Martin has a much better resume than Pastner with far inferior talent in his career overall.

Barton and Elliot Williams are both playing for the Blazers right now.
