No doubt. Agree too that he isnt on the level they will want. I kinda see them getting Shaka Smart away from VCU. Or with enough $$$ Gregg Marshall.

Now back to us stealing Austin Nichols from Memphis! LOL

I think Marshall would require a lot less money than smart..Marshall wants a big boy job, smart is happy where he is

From what I gathered during Nichols recruitment....

1. Mom works at fed ex
2. Kid gets homesick.

Now he seemed to really like UT and his sister attends here but those two points I listed will keep him at Memphis regardless of who is coaching. I think Memphis is where he wants to be. I don't think he has a love for Pastner as much as staying home. JMO.

Any chance your indifference is stoked by the realization that you wouldn't be losing that much? I doubt you were on the record as saying, "Get yours, Cal."

Yes, aboslutely.

Pastner has performed.... adequately, as Memphis' coach. Memphis took a waiver on a new HC, and most fans expected that there would be growth over time. But Pastner after four years is still an "unproven commodity". Cal, after 9 years at Memphis, was a proven winner.

Larry Brown is a legend, but the guy is in his 70s now, and SMU is simply treading water under him. He seems to simply be a figurehead at the school instead of a coach, ala Isaiah Thomas at FIU.

I don't see the big deal re: Tim Floyd, another Big 6 washout finding a home in The Land of Misfit Toys that is the C-USA.
