Mentioned him in the Barton thread, but Rob Lewis just confirmed Tennessee is going to pursue him so figured his own thread may be a good idea.

His numbers from last year:

28.5mpg 19.2ppg 3.0rpg 3.6apg 1.8a:to 1.7spg 50%fg 48%3pt 74%ft

Yes that's right, 48% from deep, and it's not as if he only took a few. He averaged about 8 three point attempts a game.

Any PG that has a 50/48/74 shooting line and under 2.0 topg is fine by me.

Did some digging, a JUCO scout for Rivals (runs jucojunction.com) asked Johnson's coach if he committed anywhere yet...coach replied he's still looking at SEC schools. Here's a couple of tweets from Jordan's coach:

“@CoachNeilBailey: Jordan Johnson is the only player at any level of NJCAA, NCAA, or NAIA to have made over 100 3's while shooting over 49%. He is uncommitted”

“@CoachNeilBailey: East Georgia Combo G Jordan Johnson recieveing interest from Texa AM, Ole Miss and Alabama. He is visits set to TX Southern & Tenn St”

Nice video. He has a quick release and he is money. Also good to see him drive left or right and finish among the trees. He would be a solid addition.

Never thought I'd see Martin recruit a sub 6' PG, I'm excited haha

I wish Cuonzo would have went after 1st team Juco All-America Dre Mathieu. I think this new Juco prospect is a much better shooter but with Robert Hubbs and Darius Tompson coming in with Jordan, we should be good shooting. Tennessee needs somebody to break a press, set up the offense and drive and dish. The biggest need that nobody on this team can do is on defense stopping the smaller quicker point guards from taking them off the dribble and getting in the lane. Darius is smart, can shoot and is long and pretty athletic. He is not quick going lateral. Maybe this guy can do it.
