The Oklahoma and Nebraska home and home is what I'm focused on. Both are top 10 programs all time as we are. And we should be pretty good by then. Especially 15' when Oklahoma comes here. I know we've played these teams in bowls. Going to games like these are literally a once in a lifetime opportunity in regard to them being home and homes.

I wonder if we will have Florida before or after the trip to Norman... Usually play the gayterds the week of OU...

Ohio State put the stops to that they need to go unbeaten in there weak conference, so they can recieve there Jan. SEC beat down.

Didn't we have Ohio State on the schedule for 2018-2019? I was really looking forward going to those games and watching us stomp them circa 96 Citrus Bowl.

Yes, they were on the schedule. They backed out a year or two ago when conference realignment started adding conference games.

Ok. Off the link. Where do you see ark st. Or is that info from somewhere else.

The Headlines below the schedules showed, "Report Ark St to play Tn in 2014 and may play Miami Fl home and home"...may not be confirmed yet?

Can not wait to go to Norman. I have several co-workers and neighbors that are OU fans. Can't wait for Hurd and Co. to stomp them.

What are the chances that the 2015 game at UConn is bought out and moved to a neutral site like Gillette Stadium or MetLife Stadium? The capacity at Renstchler Field is just 40000.

May not add a fourth ooc team for a while. Waiting to see if the SEC goes to 9 game conference schedule.

Somebody has been paying attention. Good post. If they do add one, there will be an opt out provision in one of the contracts.

They (commish, presidents...not coaches) already decided at the spring meetings on keeping an 8 game schedule for the 2014 season.

If there was waiting, they were already doing prior to that and just haven't found or decided on anyone to take the spot as of yet.

Partially correct. They dropped the game because - at the time they did - the Big Ten was dead set on either eventually increasing their conference game total to 9 or striking up a "teams play each other every year" deal with the PAC-12 starting around 2017; since one or the other, at the time, it seemed one would inevitable, they dropped the UT game to make room.

(Not supporting them or excusing them; I would rather have seen the two play)

Of course the first fell through in favor of the second, the negotiations of which fell through later that spring.

Oddly enough though, that conference agreed (and finalized) a 9 conference game slate/set up for 2017 as of the offseason

Thanks for posting that! I knew we were playing most of these teams but didnt know the dates. Went by UConn last year...surprisingly nice! It's way out in the country. I'm planning to go to that one! We also owe N Texas for the 1975 debacle in Neyland Stadium. They were D1-AA & upset us. We played like we did in '08 vs Wyoming!
GT left the SEC in 63 I believe...Bobby Dodd got mad over something. They tried to get back in in the mid 70s but there were still too many hard feelings so the SEC said no. That's when they went to the ACC. UT & GT used to be BIG rivals back in the 50s & 60s. Tulane left the SEC in 1965. Big mistake on their part! The SEC didn't split into east & west until 1992 when Ark & SC joined.
Can't wait for some of these future games when we are rolling again!!!!

I didn't know they had actually made a decision on 2014 yet. I also noticed that 2015 does have 4 ooc games. But one of those could easily be bought out if we go to 9 games by then.

I kinda hope we do. Tired of seeing the 3 pansies and a decent team rotation.

Yes. They were an independent until they joined the ACC in 1978.

Correct. And in other sports, they were charter members of what was then called the Metro Conference, from 1975 to 1978 (well 1979 was when the effective change actually took place).

Off course all of this changes if the 5 big conferences break off and form another division as is being discussed. The quality of OOC games would be incredible for every team. Hope we keep some of these games if it happens.
