2016 SEC MLB Draft Thread

SB has done stranger things

I completely agree about on field stuff

I don't know if this sort of thing can be taught, but what I assume the big problem is with Puk is that his fastball has no movement. It's straight.

So, when batters time it correctly, they don't miss it when he doesn't have the best of location.

If you throw 97 and are lefthanded, you should be able to get away with mistakes (at this level). He doesn't. When he makes a mistake, damn near every collegiate hitter jumps all over it.

Wow KR with a huge swing and a miss the past few week with this one

@KendallRogersD1: BREAKING: @GatorsBB HC Kevin O’Sullivan, #Texas’ top target, will remain w/ #Gators after '16. Will NOT entertain more interest from #Horns.

The dynasty is over. Vandy getting hammered by the draft. Let's party boys! 2 lost in the first 7 picks

I think we lost three on the first day of the draft last year too. Still had a monster class wind up on campus.

Most Vandy fans were cautiously optimistic that we might get one of those three with the very realistic expectation that we'd get none of them. Groome even decommitted and changed his commitment to a JC, probably for more leverage late in the process.

This year's won't be quite as deep but we'll still have a chance to get up to 5 or 6 BA 500 guys. Add that to last year's class, which produced three freshmen all-americans (as well as probable long term answers at shortstop and first base) and the Dores should be ok.

Congrats to Nick Senzel. Great story and I'm sure we'll see him in the big leagues before too long.

Will Jordan Sheffield sign or is he coming back? Vandy will still be fine, but obviously not as strong as if you had added a few of those arms drafted in the Top 12.

Can't believe Reynolds slipped all the way to 59th pick.

I'm hoping we don't get hammered with Liginfelter and Pence going because we need all the help we can get.

Congrats on the season and sorry for the loss of the pitcher. I'm from Tullahoma so I know Normandy Lake well and know the location of where it happened. So tragic and was obvious it affected the team. Was actually pulling for you guys.

I would assume Jordan will sign. Technically he's a redshirt sophomore but I would think going just outside the first round he'll almost certainly sign.

I'm also surprised Reynolds fell so far. I think he's a major leaguer someday because I think his bat is that good.

You missed the blue font where I temporarily forgot that overcoming draft issues is much much much more easy when you don't follow the 11.7 guidelines like 95% of the rest of college baseball does

Round 3-10 of the Draft cranks up at 12:30 (preview show)...Keep those fingers crossed we hold on to our kids.
