The one at the bottom is the only one that matters. The rest are full of conjecture and personal bias. The more teams the want a player in general means the better they are. It isn't rocket science.

Yep, and I think we will have a final picture of where we finish ranked by offer when the Ranked By Offers website does its next update on 02.05.17.

2017 Team Recruiting Ranking - Rank By Offers

Which is sort of an argument against some of the rankings that don't reward numbers - only perceived quality. I think your point about Clemson is valid if their previous classes in the last two years have been marginal or they have experienced some attrition as to the higher ranked players.

They lost 4 juniors to the draft this year plus 12 seniors so they would be at 83 on their roster in the spring

One thing is that this is a huge class..so we can miss on some and still be OK..Clemson signed 14 players..so what happens if some of those guys get hurt or flunk out or transfer if they don't start their Freshman year? We aren't as bad off as many are saying.

CU didn't only take 14 by choice; they could only take 15 to start with.

All of this conjecture is moot if we just win. We win 10 games next year, we recruit better for '18. It ain't rocket surgery. The inverse also applies.

Shew 3rd in the east this year, and barely topping South Carolina. WTG BSIA

Well you could just as easily say 3rd and nearly 2nd with florida just being a razor thin margin ahead. On espn they are in fact behind Tennessee as Tenn is 6th overall in the sec and UF is 7. Again from 12th-16th there is a very narrow margin difference on paper, some classes will end up better some will end up worse. We just have to hope our ends up better, we have some talent to work with and hopefully we can maximize this classes potential. GBO!!!

Alabamas class is ridiculous...again...no matter what site you look at...just ridiculous...

I don't see how us or anyone catches up with classes of 5+ five stars every year...that's way more discouraging to me than finishing a few spots below other SEC teams

Final rankings
ESPN, SCOUT, RIVALS all have TN at 15
247 has TN at 17.

247 does not avg the teams rankings, they avg the players rankings (including their own).

The best way to measure how good the class is look at the avg per recruit, that gives you the quality equation of a class. I would take out kickers/punters to get a true reading.

247 has us at #11. It's the Composite that has us at #17.

Lol at the genius above talking about the decommitted players in this class...EVERY single one of them was pushed out. Everybody here that actually takes the time to follow recruiting knew they were going to be dumped a long time before they were.

I agree that something just isn't right about the composite...I've seen it with multiple player rankings in the past and now our team ranking this year (11, 15, 15, 15...but 17 in the composite) just doesn't make sense...they need to take a look at their algorithm or people are going to start blowing it off as a sham

Seems like it should be closer to 14 instead of 17

Does the rankbyoffer one verify a committable offer? We offer bunches of kids that we'd never allow to sign come signing day. I'm sure that's true everywhere. If they're not verifying committable offers then it's a pretty useless stat IMO.

I would guess they are just looking at offers. If a school offers it still means something even if it's not committable.

How would they even judge what is committable? Also when would you look at that? TJ Moore had a committable offer until he didn't.

I don't look at that site but I see what it is going for and understand the logic.
