So there was a discussion in another thread about this and i thought I'd ask it here.....How many of you have mac & cheese for Thanksgiving?

@Wickman
We usually do. I do a crockpot mac and cheese I seen posted by Todd Howell. Not in the recipe but I like to add velveeta to it also.

2 cups dry elbow macaroni, cooked

4 cups sharp cheddar cheese (divided into 3 cups & 1 cup for later)

1 can evaporated milk

1 1/2 cups milk

2 eggs

1 tsp salt

black pepper to taste

Mix all liquid ingredients. Stir in salt & pepper. Stir in cheese and cooked macaroni. Cook on low about 6 hours.

Cornbread for dressing is made.
Onions and celery are grated/diced.
Two pecan pies in the oven. (My LORD! Nothing but sugar!!)
Hubby's dessert is in the fridge.
18 hardboiled eggs cooked and ready to make deviled eggs tomorrow. (Thank you pressure cooker!!!!)

Tomorrow I'll cook the turkey, mix up the dressing and put it in the slow cooker to warm, make the sweet potato souffle, and the 7up Biscuits (requested by both my daughter-in-loves.) And fix cream cheese stuffed celery and the deviled eggs.

I'm in complete control!!!

I also do Crock-Pot Mac and cheese.

INGREDIENTS
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
4 tablespoons butter (I omit)
2 1⁄2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese (I add more)
3 eggs
1⁄2 cup sour cream
1 (10 3/4ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
1⁄2 teaspoon salt (I omit)
1 cup milk
1⁄2 teaspoon dry mustard
1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper

DIRECTIONS
Boil the macaroni in water for six minutes. Drain.

In a medium saucepan, mix butter and cheese. Stir until the cheese melts. (I skip this step and dump all in the Crock-Pot)

In slow cooker, combine cheese mixture and add the eggs, sour cream, soup, salt, milk, mustard and pepper. Add the drained macaroni and stir again.

Cook on low for 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Am I a bad person for grilling steaks (and salmon) for Thansgiving? I just dont know anyone who loves turkey. Before everyone flips out, there will be a turkey here as well...

I thought I was using a secret family recipe until I saw the same recipe on the karo syrup label :p:D.
Right?? I told my husband I was making my mom's pecan pie, Then I asked my brother and sister if either of them had her recipe. Sister comes back with, "Pretty sure she used the recipe on the Karo bottle." lol

Y'all are making me think of the Friends episode where Monica is trying to figure out the family chocolate chip cookie recipe that Phoebe is trying to claim it is, trying all sorts of different recipes and it ends up being the Nestle tollhouse recipe 😄

Going to Alabama for our first Thanksgiving with son's in-laws. Alabama & Auburn fans, then us Vols. Saturday in Knoxville to watch Vols drop kick vandie.:cool:Hope Volly's dressing turns out well.

You're a Vol headed deep behind enemy lines. I recommend espionage: Casually, get the Bama and Auburn fans talking to each about an iron bowl back in the day. Things will progress from there and in just a few minutes they will be frothing it up. Sit back with your drink and enjoy.

Aren't there any other introverts who really don't care for family gatherings?
Our gatherings are the Griswold type. Nothing ever goes as planned. But it's equal parts crazy and love.

The stress that I feel leading up to it is annoying. Probably more so for my husband. heehee
