2019 Thanksgiving thread - starts with food and ends with football

Our gatherings are the Griswold type. Nothing ever goes as planned. But it's equal parts crazy and love.

The stress that I feel leading up to it is annoying. Probably more so for my husband. heehee

I'm ok for about 2-3 hours but after that I'm kind of like "Yeah I gotta jet". I sort of feel bad because I only see most of these people 2 times a year but at the same time, that kind of feels about enough. I'm one who never feels like being overly social. I'm the person that usually is drawn to the family dog and hang out with it the whole time.

I gotcha. Thank goodness we all have different ways of dealing with social situations. Can't imagine a world where we all need the same thing.

Hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Winner!!! It was just like my mom's, except it didn't have the browned crispy edges.

Stepdaughter brought green beans, son brought smoked sausage balls, and other son brought creamed corn and tea. We squeezed it all in.

Thankful for today.

Wouldn't mind the recipe for these please. šŸ˜¬

I eyeball all recipes. No exact measurements. Sorry.

For 18 eggs, Iā€™ll do:

4-5 healthy spoonfuls of mayo
One good spoonful of Dijon mustard
Good bit of black pepper
3 oz pack of prosciutto (crisp it up in a frying pan)
Lots of Mezetta jalapeƱos diced up. (In jars in the pickle aisle) Depending on your audience, you can mix tamed jalapeƱos with the hot jalapenos. All of the flavor, without as much heat.

Mix the mayo, mustard, pepper, jalapeƱos, and egg. Crush the crisped up prosciutto and put half of it in the egg mix.

Pastry bag it (or cut off the corner of a ziplock and use it) into the eggs, then sprinkle the remaining crisped prosciutto on each. Enjoy!
