They still allow hunts, earn a buck now and background checks
I guess it changed at some point, I know after 9/11 they stopped the lottery before BAE took it over. There was a guy that helped with our youth group that worked at HAAP, they make Semtex, RDX, C4, etc. at that plant. He said if there was ever a catastrophic explosion there'd be nothing standing within two miles. That's why all those bunkers are buried and so far apart. He said people worry about Eastman but this place would kill a pile of people.

Those bunkers are a hundred or so yards apart, not sure how big inside but most have a loading dock so I assume they are big. I got drawn for a turkey hunt years ago. They dropped me off right beside one across the river. They do not have Turkey hunts anymore.

Was in the pla
When they used to allow hunts on the Holston Army property there were deer like that pulled out regularly. You would see them in the grass along the fence in the summer without a worry in the world. I remember one guy got a monster piebald. Thanks a lot Bin Laden.
nt last week, saw a 10 point with long tines eating with his back legs in the road...cars and truck moving over for him

I dont know, just passing on what I was told.

A guy at work said he knew the kids grandpa that killed it. Killed in church hill and it was in a field hanging to a doe. Other than that I dont know.

I have heard it was killed around AFG. I thought you was the one who killed it and didn't want to give away any specific spots.
Oh, ok. Glass reference makes sense now lol. I dont know the specific location, but just knew it was Church Hill.

A three oz ground squirrel sounds like 4 fat girls going to the dessert bar in hobnail boots.
Rather than attempt to unpack your post, I’ll kindly ask you to refrain from using “hobnail boot.” That phrase associates with unpleasant memories for many on VN.

This thread brought back many memories for me. I'm not a hunter, but in my youth I loved "hunting season" because a lot of women left behind while the men went hunting would show up in the local clubs looking for a little something extra for themselves. I had a lot of fun :)

The guys might not have come home with a rack but you did...
