Sorry if I missed the 2021 deer season thread. I tried to search and did not find it.
I shot a decent 8pt 3 weeks ago during bow season in WV. I will attach a picture later. During bow season it was so warm that I got nervous and cut him quickly. I am used to colder weather and letting the deer hang but not in 85 degree weather.
I cooler aged the meat about 6 days. My first time with cooler aging. My local butcher will dry age in walk in cooler. But i cannot transport due to CWD laws. Honestly, I should have waited longer. Meat is fine but I think another 7 days would have been better.
How long do yall age and what method do you use?
