Promises made, promises kept! Amirite?
Factory Jobs Still Head Offshore Despite Trump Promises
That is basically a story about auto manufacturing in Ohio. Ever had the opportunity to watch or be around union workers in OH? It would be an eye opener I promise. The hardest I've seen a union worker work in a OH nuclear plant was in planning how to avoid doing anything productive. Union workers in PA nuclear plants pretty much mirrored the OH work ethic. For one preoperational test in OH, we had to install instrumentation inside the reactor, and it prompted an immediate plantwide work shutdown. The compromise was multiple union guys from different trades - like electrical, instrumentation, boilermakers, welders, etc sitting around watching one of our guys install the instrumentation.
Solve the union problem by applying antitrust law to unions, and that's a start, but unions can deliver lots of votes, so ... The other part of the equation with countries like China who manipulate currency and production costs and steal technology is tariffs, then a lot of other people start squealing like pigs. Trump has at least worked on that issue rather than continuing to bend over for the Chinese and take it with a smile.
