2020 Presidential Race

Went through my old north Knoxville neighborhood that was "where the rich people lived" 30 years ago. Saw two things of note. No one had mowed their grass, and 8 to 1 Biden to Trump signs.

Yep..my old neighborhood is now a democrat infested sh!thole. Sad.
I am from Powell originally and the town is flooded with Trump signs. Which area of North Knoxville?

I'm pretty sure that the tax increases on corporations are only going to affect those in the 400k or up bracket. I've heard that corporations will change their pricing structure to only allow price increases to people that buy their products in the higher income bracket so you'll have to show an income tax bracket card when you buy something from Best Buy that determines the price you have to pay. It's brilliant actually.
Raising corporate taxes doesn't raise prices, it's science.

This is the opposite of the late district data that was coming in 4 years ago.

Hard to see how Trump wins with the House numbers being very similar to 2018, if not slightly better, and the Senate actually far bluer. That is a lot of split tickets.

My daughters came home last night and went and voted this morning. Listening to what they see from their perspective is certainly encouraging.

Still, a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest

No reason to think that doesn't apply to all humans. In short, I doubt your family's objectivity.

What you fail to realize is that Trump was elected for one reason and one reason only. After 8 years of the constant nastiness from the Dem side, people wanted someone who would give you a dose of your own medicine. And boy has he. It has driven you all nuts that the man doesn’t lay down and take crap like all the republicans before him. Might have something to do with the fact he is not really a republican. Don’t blame the republicans for the last 4 years and maybe the next 4 years, look in the mirror to see where the blame rests
Yea, I've heard that plenty of times. I don't buy it.
Trumpers can self justify if they wish by saying it was some type of "pay back"; the big middle finger to all they disliked about Obama and the left. I do believe that made up a significant percentage of the Trump vote.
It's more or less like the segregationists throwing rocks at the bus in Little Rock.
Sad, ugly, depressing, but ultimately inconsequential.

Of course. I've long said the issue is not where we are headed but how long it will take us to get there and how much unnecessary pain, agony, and waste can be avoided.

Nobody who wished for Marxism ever wanted what they got ... except for the more unequal pigs that weren't eliminated one fine day. Perhaps you will be around one day to get your wish, and learn to understand the part about being careful what you wish for.

I think they are objective and they understand their perspective. They were raised around solid red and have been around solid blue for the past 6 or 7 years. They are comparing what they see now to what they saw in 2016. Many of their friends were in Bernie's corner in 2016 and refused to vote for Hillary. Many of their friends were in Bernie's corner in 2020, but not a single one is refusing to vote.
They were just relaying that type of anecdotal evidence.
Also, they came home to vote - red county. Said they were shocked at the number of Biden signs they saw this morning.
Couldn't remember seeing more than a couple of Hillary signs 4 years ago.

We were discussing that type of thinking this morning.
It's not a decision of socialism vs. capitalism, it is not one or the other and never has been. That's just a scare tactic of the rights.
It's more "30% socialism vs. 35% socialism".

Of course polls and models don't matter, but they can give you valuable insight into things that do. They can also give you misinformation and lies. It all depends on the validity of the poll or model.
When someone provides "information" with party registration highlighted as the source about a state that does not have party registration, one would be wise to question the data.
So polls and models don’t matter unless they give you a talking point then they do. I guess I should be used to this from you by now.

BTW I provided the link also in case you’d like to go parse it further and show why this particular model doesn’t matter.

Remember this all started with a vote count and speculation that it was bad for the GOP. So based on your drivel here I can surmise that initial count doesn’t matter either!

Keep lying to yourself. Until you realize that BOTH sides need to act more maturely you will continue to be on the wrong end of the delusional continuum

Are you good spending your children's and grandchildren's money?

That's what we're doing right now.

Trump ran a $1 TRILLION deficit... last year.

Who pays for that, hmmm?

Who's $$$ are we spending?

Key Findings
  • Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden would enact a number of policies that would raise taxes on individuals with income above $400,000, including raising individual income, capital gains, and payroll taxes. Biden would also raise taxes on corporations by raising the corporate income tax rate and imposing a corporate minimum book tax.
Details and Analysis of Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden’s Tax Plan
Continuing to pretend that deficits and debt are a function of decreased taxes (and simplisticly equating decreased income tax rates to decreased tax revenue) is disingenuous at best and manipulative at worst. Do better.

It's more "30% socialism vs. 35% socialism".

So if you really believe that 65 - 70% of the country are anti-socialist, why don't you sit down and shut up instead of trying to convince people that most people want socialism? Your side has demeaned everyone who thought differently for some time now; we've finally learned to say "screw you and the PC unicorn you rode in on."

If he has the power to shut down viruses, what has been waiting for? And why limit it to C19?
Then he’s gonna stop the flu

Then he’s gonna stop HIV

Then for the hat trick he’s gonna stop cancer!

He’s a F-ing moron that can’t remember when he last had his Depends changed ... but he’s gonna stop the virus 🙄

You guys with wealth envy need new material. Can’t tax the wealthy without it trickling down to the middle class.

Trickle down economics now? I said update your references it is 2020, and you popped on the leg warmers and started to dance like Jennifer Beals.

You'll be doing the Charleston by the time this election over.

He is back tracking now. He sees that any rational thinking person, political affiliation aside, doesn’t want lockdowns.

The irony is the idea that hes gonna "shut down" the virus like turning off a water spigot.

Is he insinuating that he can control everyone in the country without shutting it down? Or will the 24 hour coverage of the virus suddenly disappear?
