2020 Presidential Race

With Collins, Murkowski and Romney there isn't a safe red margin. Those 3 can flip on a dime.

Whatever. We'll take it. This at least leaves Mitch in control of the votes and Republicans in control of the committees. Those 3 you mentioned aren't going to go far left on anything like electoral college, packing the court or eliminating the filibuster

Yes - they are always chasing the last election. So long as voting patterns change they are off.

Lot's of group think too.
I think it’s a combination of rapidly shifting demographics, flawed methodology, and outdated/insufficient data collection. Whatever the case may be, pollsters have lost a lot of credibility the last 4 years.

no one answers land lines, and the great majority of people can't stand pollster political hacks and the media, so few people actually talk to them honestly

Trump v McCain coming back to bite him. That’s why I don’t understand the insanity of people pretending a Republican will never win again. This is going to be insanely close despite how often trump shoots himself in the foot
No. People fleeing Cali and bringing their voting habits with them. Just like Colorado and soon to be Texas.

Same but giving 8 year old hormones to “change” genders is too much for me.

I'm not that socially liberal by any stretch. Where I used to be 100% for the war on drugs and abortion being outlawed my views have done a 180 as a couple examples.

Yes I do believe otherwise, I don't want ignorant people voting. I want informed people voting. Instead we get people going to vote just because Lebron James or Lady Gaga tell them to

I prefer not to have voters informed by Ted Nugent or Donald Trump voting. Thank god we’re all free to be as stupid as we please though.

Biden will win.

unfortunately, you are correct but if Republicans can hold the Senate and it looks like they will with around 51-52 votes then that will prevent Biden from "court packing" and the gains in the House will at least make it more difficult to pass the Green New Deal and other destructive bills

Texas being close to blue is primarily because of that. Makes no sense to leave your current state because of failed policies, only to adopt the same policy in the new state.

Increasing your taxes, AGREED
pushing false and divisive racial narratives DISAGREE
decreasing your ability/right to defend yourself, DISAGREE
pushing to pack the Supreme Court DISAGREE (rhetoric) which could be the end of our union,
their pro Islam rhetoric DISAGREE,
heavy anti American sentiments DISAGREE
the list could go on for days.

When I "disagree", it's on the following basis: either the D party and majority of D politicians are not doing those things, or, those things don't sell out Americans (even though they may shift the focus between different types of Americans).

Interesting to see whether it’s just a Trump phenomenon or if polling really is broken.
My guess is that it is just a Trump thing. Nothing has changed about the math or how you go about conducting a poll. Trump has been demonized by his political opponents and the media to such a unique degree that a notable chunk of his supporters, especially in swing states and suburbia, tell either no one or very few people that they vote for him. I even heard a few Democrats say this last night - they agree with the criticism of Trump obviously, but even some of them have acknowledged he's been demonized to a degree where a decent chunk of his supporters don't want to "cop to" voting for him.

Basically I think there's a chunk of Trump's electoral support that doesn't like him personally and don't want to be associated with his fan club (like the MAGA crowd at his rallies), but prefers his politics to those of a corporate Democrat like Hillary or Joe. I know a ton of people like that myself, and I'm not even in a swing state (Tennessee). Hell, this year I was one of those people because I voted for him.

You may be right. But what is anybody gonna do about it? Today's society will accept whatever is put in front of them.
Literally nothing. There's nothing we can do. This is one of the great problems with our country. There is no accountability in Washington. People can do whatever they want and there are never any consequences.

You don’t believe the majority of the Democratic Party has been pushing false racial narratives? I mean, Harris met with the family of a rapist and told us all how great they were and how she was rooting for him to pull through

Or get any real legislation through the congress. Mitch is (still) going to be the most powerful person in DC.

I think this country is on borrowed time though.

Biden will open the borders and they will allow huge amounts of immigrants to come in from places like Somalia and they will place them in areas that are slightly red or purple to cause it to go deep blue.

They will use amnesty to switch the elections and will go full out this time.
