Not to mention, the blueprint has already been laid on how to do that in other countries that have done so. Future sales are banned, buyback programs are implemented, and possession becomes a crime. This slowly whittles down the inventory at large. There will always be guns around, however, just in smaller quantities. The 2nd amendment makes that unlikely except in potential marginal cases down the road like assault rifles, etc.The US government is never really going to do that though, they don't have the actual manpower to, even if Shannon Watt herself was President. And it wouldn't just be "rural conservatives" would oppose that.
But again my point was, what "conservative ideas" from the 1950s do modern-day conservatives want that you disagree with exactly?
It's not going to happen...no matter how much leftists want it. It doesn't do anything to take guns out of actual criminals' hands, which is the "point" of gun controlNot to mention, the blueprint has already been laid on how to do that in other countries that have done so. The state controlled legislatures came up with National Covid models and poll predictions? I don’t remember exactly who it was but I know who it wasn’t. It wasn’t the states that said over 2 Mil would die in the US due to Covid. That's an odd thing to say about Republican controlled state legislatures.
With D governors? Usually it's the executive branch that is considered the leader. Especially on day to day stuff.
