I thought I made that clear. If actual votes don't matter and the election is decided by the Supreme Court, that's pretty damning for any semblance of democracy we have, and I'd say the same thing in 2016

Not in the least. Without the electoral college, every vote would count.
With the electoral college, only states that are toss ups get attention.
Anyone's vote who lives in a blue or red state is meaningless. The result is a foregone conclusion.
It actually has the opposite effect of what you guys claim.

Remember when Hillary skipped campaigning in the flyover states and it cost her the election? Moving to a popular vote means continuing to skip over those flyover states as if they don't matter, just like Hillary did.

Agreed. But just so you'll know and maybe rest a little easier, I thought he correctly resigned or should have been removed from office if he had not. What he did was wrong and he admitted it. He was the chief law enforcement officer of the United States and he chose to play lawyer for his friends. I also thought some of his economic policies were bad. Wage and Price controls cause nothing but disruptions in the market.

Because with popular vote winning by 58 - 42 would be far better than winning by 51 - 49.
The electoral college motivates candidates to only focus on states that could go either way - and that aint many.

There needs to be a reasonable balance. Voting shouldn't be too hard or too easy. There's a middle ground of "just right" that neither side wants to achieve because that would require compromise.

God forbid that I ever have to use it, it is the last thing I would want to do. I value my life, my sense of self preservation is very strong. My protective instinct even stronger.
