Two reasons.I work at UPS. They handle 20 million + pkgs a day. Every pkg has a tracking number. It starts out 1z the next 6 numbers are the shipper number. Then you got how it was shipped with the next 2 numbers. The last eight are part of the tracking number. So why could you not create a tracking number on ever ballot. Make it a 1v the next six numbers be what state it came from. The year of the election can be the next 2 numbers. Then the last eight numbers. Ever voter would have their tracking number. If you vote by mail ever ballot has a tracking number. The number could be 1v1234562012345678. Create a website so you can track were ever vote came from. Then voters could also track their vote.
One that makes too much damn sense. Remember this is the government.
Two, there is no common singular voting system. The constitution leaves it up to the states to determine their own voting process and choose technology. And NV and PA are shining examples of how well that works (see one above)
