That is a transparent attempt by the Texas AG, Ken Paxton, to get in Trump's good graces for a pardon. This is what the system of justice in this country has been reduced to under Trump. Favors for friends and settling scores with enemies. Trump is not a complex personality.

“...investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and that the Campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts.”

Mueller report demonstrated a willingness of the Trump campaign to accept that interference. The report cited the Trump Tower meeting with a Russian known lawyer with ties to the Kremlin, sharing of polling data about Midwestern states, conversations with the Russian ambassador to influence Russia’s response to sanctions imposed by the U.S. government in response to election interference, and communications with Wikileaks after it had received emails stolen by Russia.

The GOP Senate independently confirmed Russian Interference on Trumps behalf.

The accusations against Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton, are quite substantial. They do include state charges for which he cannot be pardoned by President Donald Trump, but he also remains under investigation for other alleged offenses. This is a timeline of some federal charges that he has faced and the result:

1) 4/11/16: The SEC filed federal securities fraud charges Ken Paxton, alleging he pressured investors to invest in a company while not disclosing his own financial interest in the company.

2) 10/7/16: A federal court dismissed the charges.

3) 10/21/16: The SEC refiled the charges against Paxton, alleging he knowingly deceived members of his own investment group.

4) 3/2/17: The same federal judge dismissed the refiled charges.

We will see what happens, but the SEC appears poised to file those same charges again.

running a social media campaign to convince people to WILLINGLY vote for one candidate over another is worth spending millions to investigate. But accusations of actual fraudulent votes aren't because that's just a conspiracy theory

Paxton already has been cleared on the SEC charges. Plain and simple. Paxton is a crook. But he’s a Texas crook and the Feds are idiots
