2020 Presidential Race

He's honestly been a good surprise. I didn't vote for him in the primary, but by the time the general came around I had no problem voting for him. He went anti 2A on an issue and backed off it. He's been ad tough as anyone on China. I like his stance on trade, although it could've been tougher. I hope he pardons Snowden and Assange.
I liked his position with China before he began negotiating. He was out of his element with that type of negotiation and should have had an ultra-qualified economist chart his plan. Instead, as he claimed to know better, he chose to captain it himself, foolishly thinking it was like a real estate deal. International trade agreements are negotiated by a distinctively different strategy.

I loved most of his first cabinet appointees, but they all bolted as a result of his executive immaturity.

Bottom line for me: we need better choices for POTUS

He basically called out the SOS in that call. His supporters will love him for it. See how many people show up for him on the 6th.
Who cares how many show up? It changes nothing and they'll forget him in 4yrs or at the least will realize how terrible an option he really is

His actions the next 4yrs will make him unelectable. No one will have terrible taking down an unhinged 78yo
I would have thought this painfully clear already, and yet there's speculation that half the House caucus may symbolically try to re-elect him.

If the 2024 field is big enough, it only takes 30% support to win. I'm just trying to imagine what GOP politician is going to say, "Trump's running? Bring it on."

I think what he's saying is that the only elections that are fraudulent are the ones where people may have voted who he doesn't feel should have. Elections where people are prevented from voting through voter disenfranchisement, especially people he doesn't like, are not fraudulent.

Just remember that you're participating on a board that is representative of a highly engaged minority, attempting to interact with a significantly over represented subgroup that is also a highly engaged minority.
Tyranny of the minority

He has a record now which he didn't in 2016. It's why he lost this election so badly because he had to answer for his decisions as potus. Why the gop continues to back him is a true mystery

I hope it's Romney, Christie, and Jeb Bush. Going to be fun watching him "call them out".

They back him because he's popular with a majority of their constituents. Spineless, but seemingly their chosen path to reelection. It's actually NOT what the founders had in mind when they established our Democratic Republic

Hated the neocon's and felt like he should've cleaned house from top to bottom. Biggest mistake he made was not doing a mass firing. Mistake he's still making, he needs to declassify everything. We need an economic populist that puts this country above all else and has a killer instinct. Somebody that will go after all these career politicians that have infested our government and have corrupted it to the core.

Seeing a person in high office exhibit traits generally considered unacceptable or undesirable is empowering. What we've seen over the past four years is an increase in behaviors he's modeled becoming slowly more acceptable in public.

There have also been studies showing the idiosyncraties and turns of phrase used by Trump abs his enablers have become common due to repetition by his adherents: fake news, drain the swamp (a phrase he actually hates) and nothing - burger to highlight the more common of them.

I like your view towards the economic strategy, BUT it must also be accompanied by a keen international approach

Fake news. A nothing burger.

Actually I think "nothing burger" got to be an over-used phrase without Trump's help.

You forgot biggly. He's going to be a thorn in the side of those that hate him biggly.

Yes, he is. For a long time. Because he gets ratings.

The best way to shut down a narcissist is to stop giving him attention, but the for profit media can't handle the temporary dip in revenue.

Only real threat we have internationally is China. Eventually, we'll either be willing under their rule or at war with them. The rest are not a threat. They just don't have a big enough economy. Biden will be a disaster with China.

There's absolutely no fake news about that account of Trump and his behavioral influences upon our populace. That's analyses reported from factual events

You just can't handle his toxic masculinity. Maybe it's a low T problem.

True, but it's not entirely about our policies with those who threaten us. It's also about us establishing beneficial and FINANCIALLY sound policies with our closest allies, including those of a more geopolitical nature

You and I are 100% on the same page with regard to this post

I disagree, I certainly don't think we should make enemies of them. However, we have long paid more then our fair share in policing the world with our allies. All trade and international dealings should be made with the goal of what benefits us first. If we would just start making half the crap we consume, the China problem would solve itself.

No disrespect, but what exactly are you disagreeing with in my post. Please articulate a counter point with a specific statement. Thanks
