2021 Lady Vol Recruiting Thread

From Coach J

“I was on the Mile's wagon long before she was signed and if Coach K can get fulltime effort out of her, she indeed will fill a very longstanding void.

I agree GT, this classs will surpass expectations of this board....I've seen Pucket move and she is fluid and strong and can shoot the lights out,,,Striplin played girls much taller than she was in the games I saw and she whipped their butts,,,,Wynn is my pick to be the most athletic, since Meme Jackson and Miles is a scatback,,,Bring on Justine and a top-five-post the year after and the proverbial sky's the limit.” CJ

you backtracked recently on Miles, but I repost your original post CJ, you were super high on her and some of your “insights” are open to debate....in HS competition she surely is not the shooter you or GT were frothing over earlier. Seems another similar type of not developed shooting prowess “athlete” type .

I never, ever called her a shooter...Driver, defender, speed-guard,,yes,,but shooter, nope!

When I was fully on her bandwagon, she was being coached by her AAU coach and did NOT play with half-effort at any time and her defense was stunning,,,But with her HS coach, I see a fully different Miles! I know what type of coach her AAU coach was and half-effort play was never accepted from the players. I do not know much about her HS coach except that he did not push her buttons when she went on cruise control.

As a coach myself, I do not let my teams take the foot off of the gas. When you do, they expect it every time they get a big lead. . . I am Not! a fan of letting a team get two identities, thus I rarely experience a Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde occurrence.

I have seen the other 3 recruits enough to know that each of the 3 (Striplin, Wynn, Puckett) are self motivated and will not back off the gas pedal, no matter who is driving the car.

What I saw in the regionals from Miles is what I saw in the other 3 HS games I saw this winter and I do not endorse an athlete walking down the court,,, EVER!....What I don't know is if Coach K will handle her like her AAU coach did or her HS coach has. If she let's her get away with half effort, half effort will become a norm.

What thread is the link to that All Star game in which Puckett and Wynn are playing posted? We need to keep it up near the top of the page. Only couple more days until they play the game.

This quote is very promising Kitley for VT has been solid..

"Striplin, who is ranked as one of the nation’s elite front court preps by ProspectsNation.com, brings legitimate size coupled with the ability to face up and be effective as well. Productivity wise, she’s as far along if not more than Elizabeth Kitley was at the same stage in high school"
