2021 Lady Vol Recruiting Thread

Not to be argumentative (or maybe I am...lol), but It's really hard to believe that Tennessee offered at least 30 kids. How do you know this?

On edit, I found this site. I think I counted 21 that might have been offered. Offered is different than interest.

Hollingshead was offered still on the list he never added her, Miles was offered. not sure about Fudd just common sense she was, kampschoerder that went to Oregon State, McPherson, Lattimore, Jada Walker that signed with Kentucky, know of these for sure. Some of these McPherson and Hollingshead are still on the list of possibles. Lattimore went to Syracuse, Walker to Kentucky, Miles to Notre Dame. I don't know that we offered Fudd just common sense the number one player was offered and she eliminated us early. I don't know about Feagin never on a list would be surprised she didn't have a standing offer but maybe not.

She averaged 7 assists a game
Chuck Norris! C'mon, no one averaged 7 assists a game. The league leader, Tyesha Harris of Georgia averaged 5.7. JH did average 4.5 assists which is very good and was in the top 5 in the SEC.

Then there was that other part . . .

Ok so just to let you know my comment of 7 assists per game was in response to another player’s comment about KAYLA MCPHERSON and her not being a 1 guard LOL yes I know there wasn’t a player to average that in the SEC but that wasn’t the topic of conversation Kayla McPherson potential at the one was 😃

So, this should help, thought to ease your mind, before looking at nonTn thread.
Anyway,
Feagin to SC
Sania Feagin | WBB Blog

I think this is a good sign that Key will at the very least not be headed to SC. She and Feagin would be competing for minutes at the same position along with Amihere and Saxton. At UT there will be more minutes for her with Rennia vacating that spot. She and Striplin would be able to play on the floor more together than she and Feagin. Striplin looks to have more of an interior game where Feagin is obviously angling to play outside in like Key.

Do you think she would have to compete with Puckett at that three spot though?

Feagin was recruited to play inside. She has a perimeter game but she’ll definitely be down low.

Hard to say. The players we are bringing in seem very versatile. Puckett appears to be similar to Burrell in that she could play anywhere from 2-4 depending on the line-up. Her game has been described as being similar to Maci Morris and she seems to really be developing the perimeter aspect of her game and working on her handle. Key appears to be more of a firm 4 prospect who could play the 3 in a pinch or if we want to go with a really big lineup.

Striplin appears to be more of a 4-5 and has a really nice interior footwork already for a HS player. The 3 of them have enough difference in their game that they could play all at the same time I think.

They are totally interchangable at the two and three and Puckett can play the four if you want her to.

Yes. I think there are plenty of ways Striplin, Teonni and Sara could be on the floor simultaneously. I don’t see that at SC for Teonni, she would be splitting minutes for sure. I have a strong feeling Johnson is their last recruit anyhow.

I’ve always felt NC State was our biggest competition for Teonni and they are wide open at her position. Taking two guards in 2020 and have two guards signed for 2021. She would have the least competition for minutes, they have a great coach and it’s close to home.

Volball good post, But i think it will come down to matchups on the floor and the team. This is true for most teams just like when we played SC we only could match them at 1or2 positions. KY the same when they played SC, KY Blair Green 6-0 she is skilled and has game i like her, But she played little against SC because of the matchup.

To be clear about the exchange earlier about McPherson.... I had said I thought McPherson could be the most important 2021 still on our board because of the huge need for a difference maker at the 1. A poster said they felt that JH could be the answer and I said that while athletic, I did not see her as a 1 meaning JH.
