I don’t know much about Alabama basketball, but I read this morning that Karoline Striplin had 35 pts, 18 rebs, and 5 blks to lead 2A-Geneva County over 7A- Enterprise 63-55. I’ve been really impressed with her game thus far. I think she’s going to be a nice addition to our post game next year.

She is going to be at least a 8 to 10 rebound a game player and will get a lot of points at the line if fouled she is about an 80 percent foul shooter. She can also step out and stroke a three at around 35 percent efficiency.

I’ll take the under on the 8-10 RPG. She seems like a player, but those are big numbers.

i think she can be that by the time she graduates from UT and will be solid but as a freshman i agree
Even as a senior that would be a great accomplishment.

Over the years here are the players that had 8-10 rebounds per game.

Rennia Davis
Mercedes Russell 3x
Bashaara Graves 2x
Isabelle Harrison 2x
Glory Johnson 2x
Candace Parker 3x
Shyra Ely
Tamika Catchings 2x
Chamique Holdsclaw 4x

Thats it for the last 30 years. Not one had 10.0 or more.

9 players did it 20 times.

Its hard for me to see Striplin performing at this level, even in her senior season.

Not me because she will get in better shape and she already knows she not the most athletic (i’ve read it in some of the articles) she BOXES OUT and with her strength i think she can be a strong rebound meaning 8-10 a game before she graduates

All you have to do is look at her shooting form to understand why she is putting up those numbers.
she shoots from the temple, not the traditional push-shot most girls learn and continue to do in college:

Outstanding post Coach, simply outstanding!!!!.....

Karoline is going to be such a force for our inside/outside game, it will be almost volcanic....Since you got an up close look at her, when you were one of her coaches at that tournament, your opinion is valuable, at least to me it is.

The girl is electric and full of personality, as the video shows....Her legs are fantastic...By that I mean they are strong and built for contact and combat....Never seen better on a basketball player.

We are so fortunate to have her coming here next season..I remember how nuts I got on this message board when she committed...I'm still wild about the girl...Add in Sara, her running mate, and DAMN, what a show it's going to be....

Then the following year, add Justine to the mix, and it will be STUPENDOUS!!!!!

agree about Justine,,,she is a true marksman

Karoline gives us a high post that can shoot, drive or pass.
ANd she is powerful too boot

Its like having a Point-Forward to give the offense a different look

Notice also in the video, her natural instincts to "look" like she's ready to receive a pass and then pivot into the shot."What you do when practicing, you will do in a game"

Why do you say that when she is averaging around 17 in high school? Do you think she can't rebound in college playing a post position? Is what she is doing in high school overrated? Do you not think she has the size and physical strength to rebound in college? She has posted over 20 in some games so evidently you have a reason why you think she want be able to grab 8 or more in college.

Lots of questions. I'll try to answer.

I don't think that averaging 17 in HS automatically translates into a very difficult to attain 8+ rebounds per game in Div I basketball. Especially in a physical conference like the SEC.

She can rebound in college playing a post position. By post, I'm sure you mean the 4 position, not the 5. Just not 8+.

Most stats in HS for players ranked where she is in the rankings (averaging around 50 across the recruiting sites) are because they are so much bigger and stronger than her opponents. I will admit I don't know what level of HS ball she is playing against.

She appears to have good size. I'm sure she will battle in the post. However, she will be going against other bigs who are either the same size and strength or bigger.

Those are most of my reasons. You do make it seem like I don't think she can rebound in college. I never said that. I just don't think she will get to 8+ per game.

Did you see the names of the players who did accomplish that difficult stat of averaging over 8 rebounds per game? Maybe the best players for Tennessee over the last 30 years. Do you really believe she has that capability?

Depends on how much she gets to play if she gets to 30 minutes a game she definitely do it later in her career. To me playing time along with ability would make it happen. I think she could easily be as good as Graves and even some of the others only time will tell. I can see your point only if she fails to get the time on the court.

I really struggle with fans that post unreasonable expectations for these kids. As good as Graves? Maybe even some of the others? No amount of time will make that happen.

Hey, it would be great if you are right. But I just don't see it.

No problem because no way to prove it one way or another. I totally base my opinion on her putting up doubles doubles every game along with six or more blocks. If she only gets half the numbers she is putting up in high school she will match what Graves did at UT but of course what she is doing in high school may all be a mirage.

I’ve been thinking this for a while now. I believe GameTime and Coach Jumper are the same person.

I don't know it you have seen any video on her. Here is a link to MaxPrep and several highlight videos from last season.

Sorry but there is a 30 second commercial at the beginning of each video.

She is a rock solid player with decent post moves and a good medium range jumper. I only watched the first two but as I suspected, she is the biggest player on the court. That won't happen in any games in the SEC.
